Fujitsu Refreshes Mobile and Desktop Portfolio for the Enterprise

Fujitsu EMEIA

News facts:

  • Latest technology improves employee productivity while also saving energy
  • Minimized design shrinks PC footprint
  • Innovative features such as Low Power Active Mode and embedded Fujitsu PalmSecure authentication enable enterprises to realize benefits from workplace transformation
Luxembourg, September 29, 2015 Fujitsu today shows that good things come in small packages, with the introduction of new and refreshed models to its enterprise desktop and mobile portfolio. Featuring workplace design that favors human needs over large and noisy technology requirements, the new models maximize user satisfaction and employee productivity thanks to smaller PC footprint, leading-edge security and the high performance of the 6th Generation Intel® Core™ processor family.

Jörg Hartmann, Vice President Global Client Computing Business at Fujitsu says: “Today, technology must ultimately empower people to collaborate, to create knowledge and to enable businesses to communicate and engage with customers and partners via a ‘workplace anywhere’ approach that encourages agile and flexible working. The optimized technology underpinning Fujitsu’s refreshed desktop and mobile portfolio delivers the highest levels of performance-boosting productivity, lowers Total Cost of Ownership and further cuts energy.”

The FUJITSU Desktop ESPRIMO line-up offers the sophisticated Low Power Active Mode function. This not only saves energy, but also enables companies to consider replacing desktop phones with more cost-effective unified communication and collaboration tools. It means that calls or messages can no longer be missed just because ‘the computer was turned off’: Fujitsu’s innovative Low Power Active Mode puts new desktop PC models into a standby state similiar to smartphones. The PC remains connected to the network – therefore continuing to receive messages and provide incoming call alerts.

ESPRIMO Mini PCs deliver power, flexibility and high level of security
With the latest-generation ESPRIMO Q, Fujitsu remains ahead of the trend of minimizing the workplace technology footprint – ensuring that PCs blend into the background in virtually any business environment. Back in 2006, Fujitsu was first enterprise PC manufacturer to start selling Mini PCs, and is now introducing the 8th generation model. Customers such as the German Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) rely on this Mini PC concept. They selected the predecessor model of the newESPRIMO Q as its standard PC.

Günther Maas, User Service – IT Services Workplace Products, Bundesagentur für Arbeit said: “Modern employment agency offices need to convey quiet professionalism in an approachable, often open-access environment, and the ESPRIMO Q enables us to do that. Thanks to its power, security features and flexibility, we are able to standardize on this PC in the back office as well as in our Internet Centres for use by job seekers – even for more computationally challenging roles such as IT development.”

Restricting PC access to authorized users only is often a challenge in open-access environments such as retail, information desks at consumer banks, and open-plan offices. Fujitsu addresses this by offering the latest generation ESPRIMO Q956 with the unique embedded palm vein sensor – widely recognized as the most secure commercially available biometric authentication technology.

Fujitsu’s new PC member, ESPRIMO D, a compact 10-liter desktop PC, is ideal for a wide range of office applications, and replaces the outgoing ESPRIMO C and E series models. It provides power supplies of up to 94 percent efficiency, while reducing energy costs by up to 40 percent1.

LIFEBOOK: The hallmark for continuity and stability in the enterprise
Fujitsu has also refreshed models in the Advanced Line of its LIFEBOOK notebooks, focusing on delivering individual yet highly compatible mobile devices. Enterprises love LIFEBOOK E series for their ease of manageability and simplified rollout – as family models use common mainboard, BIOS, drivers and bit image. This ensures compatibility and means enterprises can save by standardizing on fewer master disk images for their corporate operating systems. With ‘shared and co-working’ environments now also on the rise – where co-workers share office space and resources – organizations also benefit from standardized accessory options such as port replicator, and this reduced complexity helps lower Total Cost of Ownership.

The FUJITSU Notebook LIFEBOOK E7 series comprises three premium models (13.3-inch, 14.0-inch, 15.6-inch), each incorporating the latest 6th Generation Intel® Core™ processor family and DDR4 memory. The use of 6-cell (77Wh) primary battery enables runtime of up to 14 hours, extended to a total of 19 hours with an optional second battery. Attractive and robust materials like aluminium and magnesium combine maximum durability in an attractive design.

The FUJITSU Notebook LIFEBOOK E5 series consists of two new models (14.0-inch, 15.6-inch), both with the latest 6th Generation Intel® Core™ processor family, DDR4 memory and 6-cell (72Wh) battery option.

Further extending the family concept, Fujitsu delivers ultimate flexibility through uniquely offering a broad range of upgrade options for the modular bay that is a hallmark of its LIFEBOOK models. Swappable components include a second battery, Blu-ray drive (E7 only), a second hard disk drive, a DVD Super Multi drive, or a simple weight saver tray. The Fujitsu family Port Replicator is compatible with new models as well as previous LIFEBOOK E7 and LIFEBOOK E5 generation, LIFEBOOK U745 Ultrabook™, LIFEBOOK T725 2 in 1 and CELSIUS H730 mobile workstation.
