Fujitsu Improves PRIMERGY Portfolio System Naming for Easier Selection

March 07, 2014 RX, for Rack Server or TX, for Tower Server. The numbers following the form factor refer to the number of sockets and the processor platform type. This leads to a system class, like PRIMERGY RX2500. The last two digits in the name refer to the feature set of the specific model. Finally, the generation suffix ‘M1’ rises incrementally with each new processor generation.

The first PRIMERGY systems to use the new naming scheme are the PRIMERGY RX2520 M1 and PRIMERGY TX2540 M1. Both new PRIMERGY systems offer vast storage expansion capabilities and affordable dual-processor performance based on Intel’s Xeon Processor E5-2400 v2 product family for essential business workloads or small virtualization environments.
