Fujitsu today announces new products, services and solutions that underline its growing momentum in balancing the company’s business model towards services and solutions based on a strong product and technology portfolio, focusing on the Central Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (CEMEA&I) region.
In developing its cloud-, service- and solutions-orientated business in the CEMEA&I region, Fujitsu is leveraging its industry-specific know-how in target verticals including retail, banking, healthcare and the public sector. As ICT consumption models change, and businesses of all sizes increasingly turn their focus to more industry-specific solutions, so Fujitsu is placing a greater emphasis on meeting these needs, in delivering more vertically-focused value-added services and solutions.
Proof points of the transformation include the global launch at CeBIT of Fujitsu PalmSecure, already deployed in the banking and healthcare market segments. This uses a contactless scan of the palm vein pattern of a user’s hand to confirm their identity, using biometrics that are more secure, harder to defraud and easier to use than traditional authentication methods, such as Chip & PIN. The innovation is already being used to combat identity fraud by major European commercial banking group UniCredit, which has integrated PalmSecure into its Papillon secure payment system.
Also new at CeBIT is the official go-live for Fujitsu Eco Track, powerful cloud-based software that gives companies unique insights into their environmental footprint, as well as ensuring compliance with the new EU Energy Efficiency Directive. Available from April 1 on the Fujitsu Cloud Store, the software-as-a-service can not only ensure straightforward compliance with new EU-mandated energy audits, but also can be used to provide comprehensive insight into the optimization of full energy usage patterns, by helping to demystify operating costs and providing helpful insight into opportunities for optimization and savings.
Recognizing that small and mid-size businesses (SMBs) rely on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to do optimized business, Fujitsu is launching the PRIMERGY CX420 server, which introduces simplified clustering technology designed to help extend system uptime and protect business continuity in the event of an ICT system failure.
Fujitsu is also introducing a new slim-line model to its LIFEBOOK range. The new LIFEBOOK E Line of elegant and slim business notebooks is designed to optimize enterprise mobility, with the stylish and lightweight premium notebook PCs ideal for demanding business users.
Enabling enterprises to touch the cloud, Fujitsu is showcasing the new semi-ruggedized STYLISTIC M702 Android 4 tablet. Announced last week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the certified waterproof and dustproof tablet is making its debut in Germany at CeBIT.
CeBIT visitors will be able to experience a full showcase of Fujitsu’s portfolio of end-to-end services and solutions at Booth B52 in Hall 2, while the company’s specific expertise in serving the public sector is highlighted in the Public Sector Parc on Booth A28 in Hall 7.
