Fujitsu today announces the world’s first certified, ready-to-run appliance for SAP® Business One, analytics powered by SAP HANA®. The appliance underlines Fujitsu’s commitment to widening overall availability of the powerful in-memory computing technology from SAP AG and enabling faster business decision-making for companies of all sizes, and represents the latest in a line of Fujitsu offerings in support of SAP HANA.

As businesses of all sizes grapple with the implications of big data and sift through ever-growing amounts of transactional business data, the Fujitsu appliance certified by SAP will speed insight and decision-making. This is achieved by using in-memory technology, which accelerates the process of analyzing and interpreting large amounts of information as opposed to traditional disk-based databases.

Business benefits

With the new appliance, Fujitsu delivers the advantages of SAP HANA at an affordable entry point. The dedicated appliance for SAP Business One, analytics powered by SAP HANA represents a new approach to assist businesses in intelligently cutting through the big data jungle.

Designed especially for large enterprises as well as small and midsize businesses running the SAP Business One application, Fujitsu provides an infrastructure solution dedicated to helping manage, consolidate and benefit from both growing volumes and multiple sources of data.

Based on Fujitsu’s robust PRIMERGY TX300 S6 tower server technology, the appliance is the latest in a series of offerings from Fujitsu in support of SAP HANA, and further extends Fujitsu’s position as a strategic partner for SAP HANA technology:

  • Fujitsu introduced an SAP-certified platform configuration to run SAP HANA, last June
  • Fujitsu introduced a Global Demo Center in support of SAP HANA, last September
  • Fujitsu was among the first vendors to achieve certification for multi-node environments running SAP HANA, in November

Out-of-the-box operations

Ready-to-run out of the box, the SUSE Linux-based Fujitsu appliance is compact, pre-configured and comes with SAP Business One, analytics powered by SAP HANA pre-installed. To help guarantee a fast, non-disruptive and high-quality SAP HANA implementation for customers of different sizes and varying technical competence, Fujitsu factory optimizes internal processes such as system set-up.

This attention to detail makes the appliance ideal for smaller companies to go live on analytics for SAP Business One powered by SAP HANA, without needing to call in external IT resources to manage complex and specialized system integration. The server-based appliance is small enough to fit into a server room or slide easily into a datacenter rack.

Available exclusively via SAP channel partners reselling SAP Business One, the Fujitsu appliance is an ideal match for SAP Business One, which is designed especially for the needs of small businesses and branch offices. The appliance replicates data for analytical reporting and provides new functionality, including enterprise search, interactive analysis, and reporting, as well as new dashboards and the ability to leverage all types of data sources, all delivered with the speed of in-memory computing.
