News Facts
Fujitsu’s recently announced PRIMERGY RX300 S7 server generation sets the new target to beat for single-node server efficiency, achieving a new world record and debuting as the first to break the prestigious SPECpower_ssj2008 milestone of 5,000 overall ssj_ops/watt.1 The result underlines Fujitsu’s leadership in the engineering of energy-efficiency PRIMERGY servers. The company already holds energy-efficiency records in their class with the PRIMERGY TX120 S3 and further mono-socket systems.
Business Benefits
Many businesses are challenged by the stringent environmental mandates for data centers set by national governments. Thanks to this improved energy efficiency, Fujitsu customers can now run two-thirds more workloads on their current power budget without stressing their datacenter cooling. This is good news for mid-sized and large businesses facing power limitations, or with limited heat dissipation in their data centers. Overall Fujitsu’s new server platform reduces both stress on datacenter and the environment, while helping to dramatically reduce energy costs.
These results reflect the many innovations made by Fujitsu to increase energy efficiency as a clear corporate goal. For example, Fujitsu ServerView Suite supports simplified and automated PRIMERGY energy management, with innovative features such as automatically switching off PCIe ports when not in use. In combination with 94 per cent-efficient power supplies, and other intelligent system improvements, the Fujitsu PRIMERGY RX300 S7 delivers an energy efficiency result of 5,032 overall ssj_ops/watt. According to Intel * , an improvement of up to 51 per cent is achieved compared to the previous HP ProLiant DL360 * generation.2
Fujitsu PRIMERY dual-socket servers set high standards for versatility, scalability and cost-efficiency
Launched yesterday, the new generation of Fujitsu PRIMERGY dual-socket servers with latest Intel® Xeon® processor E5 family are designed from the ground up to set a new standard for cost-efficiency, scalability and versatility for mid-sized and large customers demanding highest level of performance. Fujitsu’s new concept of a modular design creates a highly customizable server platform that allows customers to more freely configure systems to meet their current IT needs, and extend later if required.
Customers choosing PRIMERGY are also assured of investment protection over the server lifecycle. The new PRIMERGY generation provides 100 percent additional memory capacity and space for an additional 33 per cent internal storage. Ease of administration is assured for PRIMERGY servers thanks to Fujitsu’s innovative ServerView Management Suite.
