Fujitsu Introduces New Scalable and Flexible CELVIN NAS servers

Fujitsu Technology Solutions

Munich, November 21, 2012 News facts:

  • New high-capacity Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices provide SMBs with professional features and security that adapt to evolving business data needs
  • Affordable, scalable option for storage-hungry virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and archiving scenarios
  • New rack mountable version; enhanced reliability for protecting critical business data

Fujitsu today announces a new line-up of CELVIN NAS servers, providing affordable data protection for small and medium businesses that need a complete network attached data storage system.

Versatile enough to provide centralized storage for deployments from virtualization all the way to Storage Area Networks, new CELVIN NAS servers provide small- and mid-size firms with more versatile, more scalable and more reliable ways to store and protect their data. The network-attached devices deliver proven higher levels of performance, stability and reliability in comparison to patchwork backup solutions such as external hard disk drives connected via USB.

In addition to unrivalled data transfer speeds across Ethernet, eSATA, and USB 3.0 interfaces, Fujitsu’s new NAS servers come with standard features that help guarantee system resilience and protect against data loss in the face of network or risk issues, including a variety of RAID options (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Ultimate Scalability, Reliability and Versatility with the new Fujitsu CELVIN NAS Servers

The top-of-the-range Fujitsu CELVIN NAS Q902 provides up to 18TB of storage across six hard disk drives. Certified for virtualized environments including VMware® and Citrix®, the CELVIN NAS Q902 is ideal for hosting virtual machines, and offers 9 RAID levels including extended hot-spare functionality.

A second new NAS device, the Fujitsu CELVIN NAS QR802, can be rack mounted alongside existing network and server equipment. The system features up to 12TB of capacity, dual power supplies and cooling, plus load-balancing capabilities to help deal with surges in data traffic. With a choice of seven RAID levels and encrypted remote replication, customers can count on the Fujitsu CELVIN NAS QR802 to reliably host their most critical data.

Fujitsu’s third NAS server is a new version of the CELVIN NAS Q802, ideal for general data handling, backup and storage needs, offering up to 12TB of storage on four hard disk drives and a choice of seven different RAID levels.

Fujitsu CELVIN NAS Q902 and CELVIN NAS Q802 are now on sale. CELVIN NAS QR802 will follow at the end of December. Pricing varies according to model and configuration.
