Fujitsu Trials New Concept for Personal Cloud, Seeking Seamless Access to Business Apps and Data Anytime, Any Place, Any Device

Munich, November 07, 2012

News facts:

  • Internal trials use Fujitsu Personal Cloud as a path from today’s legacy applications to cloud-based dynamic applications

  • Successful test will lead to possible end-customer pilot in 2013
Fujitsu today announces its “Fujitsu Personal Cloud” concept, which represents the promise of substantial savings in comparison to managed workplaces of today. The announcement was made at Fujitsu Forum 2012, Europe’s biggest single-vendor IT event, taking place in Munich, Germany.

Fujitsu is using its Global Cloud Platform to enable the internal pilot, which will give each user access to their own Fujitsu Personal Cloud. With all services running in a secure Fujitsu datacenter, users’ workplace and business applications become accessible from almost any network-enabled device. Depending on results of the project, which begins internally later this year, Fujitsu will consider whether to introduce field tests for customers.

The Fujitsu Personal Cloud is intended to bridge the gap between legacy enterprise worlds and the growing trend of being able to access business information anywhere, anytime – while also enabling savings through reduced costs for device management and security, and lowering overheads for administration and maintenance.
