Fujitsu Launches New ISV Cloud Program

- New Revenue Options and Secure Online Operation for Software Vendors

Munich, November 08, 2010

Fujitsu today launches a new Cloud Program for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), offering immediate additional sales opportunities. The Program comprises a platform that enables ISVs to make their software products available to customers as Software as a Service (SaaS) via the internet. The Program includes not only pre-configured Cloud business services for online service sales, but also a complete Fujitsu Infrastructure as a Service platform. A key benefit to ISVs, migration of business applications is easy and fast.

With SaaS, software vendors profit from an additional distribution channel. Fujitsu's ISV Cloud Program, with its user-friendly and standardized interface, facilitates the migration to a Software as a Service model. Furthermore, customers are supported with a corresponding integration service. This way, existing software products can be linked easily and without additional costs with the Fujitsu solution. As Fujitsu's online platform depicts the accompanying business functions such as online sales catalogue, product packaging, pricing and invoicing capabilities, software vendors can efficiently deploy these easily without additional development efforts needed. The pre-configured services offered by Fujitsu include for example user registration, account and subscriber management, provisioning services as well as invoicing and billing via credit card or debit card. Fujitsu's scaling capabilities make costs for Cloud based offerings significantly lower for software vendors in comparison to owner-operated models.

Migrated off-premise software products can be offered online immediately as the package also includes the operation of the required IT infrastructure in Fujitsu's data centers in Germany: the ISV Cloud Program is based on Fujitsu's portal-driven IaaS offering for servers and storage. IT applications are made available flexibly and dynamically to meet a customer’s needs. With the combination of ‘SaaS-ification’ of the software product, the provisioning of dynamically controllable IT capacities, and the associated consulting and integration services, Fujitsu offers its customers an ideal solution.

Says Andre Kiehne, Vice President Services at Fujitsu Technology Solutions who is responsible for the development of this offer: “Until now, selling software products via the internet was only possible using online platforms that require a new development of existing software products, and with costly and time-consuming bespoke technical development. Fujitsu’s new ISV Cloud Program enables software vendors to migrate existing software products to the SaaS model without re-writing the application and operate them from a central data center at a low price point.”

“Data protection and high availability are key requisites for SaaS. End customers need to be able to always access the required applications and be certain that their data is protected against unauthorized access, and Fujitsu has many years standing in these areas,” adds Kiehne.

Fujitsu will announce details on the new ISV Cloud Program at ISV Vision on November 16, 2010 starting at 5:30 PM at the Hotel Eden in Munich. To register and for more information about ISV Vision please visit http://www.isv-vision.com/129.0.html

Fujistu has also put the ISV Cloud Program on the agenda of its own trade show, the VISIT 2010 Future Forum Europe, taking place on November 24 and 25, 2010 in Munich.
