FrieslandCampina Chooses Fujitsu for International Workplace Innovation

Fujitsu’s global presence and local support capabilities win FrieslandCampina’s trust

Munich, August 30, 2010

Fujitsu today announced that it has won a five-year-long deal with Royal FrieslandCampina. FrieslandCampina, a multinational dairy company selling products in more than 100 counties, is working toward standardizing its workplaces globally. To prepare for and implement this project, the company has signed a contract with Fujitsu to manage FrieslandCampina’s new workplaces and provide support through a 24-hour service desk.

As a result of the win, Fujitsu will manage full outsourcing for FrieslandCampina’s IT workplace infrastructure, for 8,500 users dealing with 1,400 applications used all over the world. Each user will get new Fujitsu client hardware with Windows 7 and Office 2010. Fujitsu will also manage FrieslandCampina’s 14,000 mailboxes and will provide collaboration with Office Communicator Server.

To meet FrieslandCampina’s high service level requirements, Fujitsu will build a desktop infrastructure in the Fujitsu data center in Maarssen, Netherlands, and will provide a tri-lingual service desk, offering customer support in English, German and Dutch.

Jürgen Schüβler, Head of Global Infrastructure FrieslandCampina, says: “Fujitsu proved during the bidding process that it is adaptable and offers experts who fit well into our business and our corporate culture. Fujitsu has been able to meet the needs of our business with an appropriate proposal for transition services. Most importantly, however, Fujitsu has a global presence but also the resources to provide local support in all the countries it deals with. We are confident that the coming changes under Fujitsu are in good hands.”

Geo van der Wilk, Managing Director at Fujitsu Technology Solutions, says: “Fujitsu aims to help its customers in the IT field and support them in achieving their business goals. Based on our one-stop shopping offer of products and services, we designed an IT solution for FrieslandCampina that provides flexibility and choice in desktop management. We are proud to have won FrieslandCampina’s confidence in the strategically important domain of the establishment and management of its IT infrastructure.”
