Fujitsu Australia Limited – Statement on WGEA gender pay gap 2022-23

Our vision for gender equity:

Fujitsu’s vision in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand is to be an inclusive employer of choice creating sustainable impact with communities and clients.

Cultivating an inclusive culture, that empowers people of all genders and harnesses their strengths, allows Fujitsu Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to contribute to Fujitsu’s global purpose of making the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation.

Ensuring ongoing gender pay equity:

Fujitsu is committed to reviewing gender pay gaps annually. In the past few years, Fujitsu has maintained pay equity with the most recent 2022-23 WGEA compliance reporting showing a relatively small 2% pay gap (average total remuneration) and 5.3% (median base salary) favouring men over women. While this is significantly lower than the industry benchmark of 11.6%, Fujitsu believes that all gender pay gaps are unacceptable. The business is working to better understand how these gaps occur so they can be rectified, particularly as Fujitsu acquires new businesses to support its sustainability transformation journey.

Understanding drivers of gender pay gaps:

Fujitsu continues to analyse data to identify contributing areas that cause gender pay inequality. As part of its strategy to increase the representation of women in our business, Fujitsu is focused on creating pathways into STEM careers for women by hiring more females to its award-winning graduate program. This has an impact on Fujitsu’s pay equity gap using WGEA’s methodology, as these new entrants to the workforce commence on graduate salaries. This is one contributing factor to Fujitsu’s small gender pay gap.

Action on gender equity:

As a digital transformation company, we recognise that Fujitsu has an important role across the ICT industry to empower more women to consider STEM careers. Fujitsu is focused on taking a strategic and whole of business approach to shift the dial on its own workforce composition and aims to have at least 40% of its workforce women by 2026.

To support this goal, Fujitsu has developed a holistic Gender Equity Strategy to attract/recruit, develop and retain women and gender diverse people to Fujitsu. Fujitsu is committed to offering a workplace culture that supports women and gender-diverse people, especially women working in technical roles. Fujitsu looks forward to sharing the results as it progresses this Strategy over the coming years.

Fujitsu Australia acknowledges all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Custodians of Country and recognises their continuing connection to land, sea, culture, and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
