Wellington, September 03, 2020 - Fujitsu today announced its full-year financial results for New Zealand for the 2019-20 financial year. Fujitsu New Zealand recorded an operating profit of six per cent and a service sales growth of 10 per cent. Fujitsu’s operating profit for the year was NZ$4.5 million, up from NZ$4.2 million the previous year, while net profit after tax was NZ$3 million, down from NZ$3.8 million.

Mika Joronen, Country Manager, Fujitsu New Zealand, said, “The net profit result is due to a significant shift in revenue from traditional hardware sales to services, with an increased focus on digital and cloud solutions. This is good news for Fujitsu and our customers. Moving to a services-focused approach means customers can progress through their digital transformation plans and increase the agility of their business by leveraging the cloud. This is crucial for businesses wanting to scale while catering to the distributed, flexible workforce of the future.

“The subscription model allows customers to spread out their IT expenditure rather than face large, upfront costs to modernise their technology.”

The company also continues to grow its presence in the NZ market, gaining over 10 new clients in 2020 across enterprise and government organisations.

Mika Joronen said, “Fujitsu continues to work closely with customers, supporting their journey through digital transformation so they can adapt to the future of work, letting employees work securely from a wide range of locations and devices.”
