Sydney, June 04, 2018 - Fujitsu today announced its comprehensive Protected Cloud Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution for government agencies to enable digital transformation in a secure cloud technology environment. Fujitsu is working with Vault Systems to deliver the solution that includes Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Government Desktop-as-a-Service (GovDaaS).
The Fujitsu Protected Cloud portfolio, built on Vault Systems Australian Signals Directorate (ASD1) certified protected IaaS, meets the (~820) controls of the ASD’s Information Security Manual. The service portfolio will be delivered from a government-only protected cloud environment and will offer enterprise productivity, a high degree of data security, governance and business functionality. Fujitsu will fully manage the platform in accordance with the relevant controls, Software as a Service (SaaS) capability, service desk and support for government customers.
Mike Foster, Chief Executive Officer of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand said, “With government agencies aggressively adopting cloud-first strategies, security has been a key concern. The Fujitsu Protected Cloud solution addresses those security concerns and delivers increased workforce adaptability and mobility.
“Digital transformation investments to date have been focused on customer-facing initiatives. Meanwhile, employee-facing systems are ripe for transformation. Fujitsu’s Protected Cloud initiative offers a way to meet sophisticated operational demands while future-proofing government infrastructure against ever-evolving business needs and technology offerings.”
Rupert Taylor-Price, Founder and CEO, Vault Systems, said, “Vault is delighted to partner with Fujitsu to accelerate the pace of digital transformation within government agencies. We believe that, as technology continues to evolve, employees need tools to enable them to perform their jobs more efficiently and effectively. With Vault’s ASD-certified cloud we can guarantee that the Australian government’s data stays protected on a sovereign cloud under Australian jurisdiction.”
Fujitsu Protected IaaS is a community cloud service that is purpose built for government and lets technology teams deliver better, more responsive services that scale in line with the changing operational environment and its requirements. It delivers rapid access to server, storage, and network capacity as a service, offering all the cost and scalability benefits of the public cloud, but with enterprise-grade performance, reliability, and security as standard.
Fujitsu Protected BaaS provides a managed cloud-based backup and recovery service offering highly flexible, efficient, and secure backup and recovery, available on demand. It lets users store and optimise backup data, rapidly and effectively recover data, monitor and manage backups.
Fujitsu Protected Government Desktop-as-a-Service (GovDaas) will centralise and secure any government desktop environment into the cloud. This is the first time virtual desktop infrastructure is being delivered on an Australian-certified protected cloud in a truly elastic as-a-service model. Fujitsu GovDaaS delivers a superior workplace mobility experience that empowers employees to work when and where they want – in addition to the increased efficiencies, cash flow and agility benefits of cloud computing.
