Sydney, December 12, 2013
Canon Australia and Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand have today announced a partnership to host Canon's Therefore Online workflow and information management solution on Fujitsu's cloud platform. Therefore Online is an extension of Canon's Therefore software platform, which is designed to provide a full information management and workflow solution for businesses across various sources of information including paper documents, electronic files, barcodes, email, internet forms and XML files.
Therefore Online is the first of Canon Australia's applications to be hosted on the Fujitsu platform and will pave the way for a new suite of cloud-based offerings that will allow the delivery of the applications to consumers on a cost-effective subscription model. Ideal for small to medium businesses (SMB), Therefore Online is scalable to organisations of all sizes.
This partnership leverages Canon's existing long-term relationship with Fujitsu. The two companies have worked together on similar agreements in the United States and Europe; however this agreement is specific to Canon Australia and Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand.
Taz Nakamasu, Managing Director of Canon Oceania, said “Canon is pleased to be collaborating with Fujitsu to bring to market a fully integrated cloud-based solution that helps businesses transform the way information is managed and shared throughout their organisation. Therefore Online provides SMBs with a means to capture, manage, retrieve and control all business information in any format with the flexibility of cloud delivery. It provides SMBs and enterprises with productivity, security and compliance advantages in a platform that is accessible to all on a ‘pay-as-you-use’ basis. Fujitsu’s cloud is delivered locally from Fujitsu’s Australian data centres, providing us with the confidence that our customers’ data will not go offshore.”
Mike Foster, Chief Executive Officer of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, said “We are pleased to be working closely with Canon on this landmark agreement, which demonstrates the maturity of our long-term relationship with Canon both locally and internationally. We were able to offer Canon a choice of cloud platforms and assist it to determine the most appropriate cloud platform to support its growth strategy. Offering Canon a cloud service that included Infrastructure as a Service as well as Software as a Service solutions (including Back-up aaS and IT Management aaS) was a differentiator for us. We look forward to working with Canon to support its move to offer cloud Solutions to its end customers.”
Canon’s Therefore Online is expected to be launched in early 2014.
