Sydney, September 15, 2011

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, a leading provider of ICT business solutions, has announced that two of its ‘greenfield’ data centres have been included in the Whole of Government Data Centres Under Development Panel by the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO).

Under this Panel’s Greenfield provisions, Fujitsu’s existing and planned data centres in NSW and ACT will help meet the demands of Federal, State and Territory agencies throughout the Panel’s lifespan to 2016.

This announcement forms part of the Data Centre Facilities Panel. There is also the Data Centre Migration Service Panel which assists agencies to move their ICT infrastructure to new, highly efficient and secure data centres.. Fujitsu has won places on both these Panels.

Phil McCormack, Fujitsu’s Group Executive Director, Australia Government said: “Data centres are an integral part of Fujitsu’s wider Cloud strategy. Our continuing significant investment in purpose-built, sustainable data centres is to support the needs of our Australian customers and in particular their data sovereignty issues. The Greenfields announcement is evidence of Fujitsu’s continuing success in building our capability set to support the demands of the Australian public sector.

Mike Foster, CEO of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, said: “The expansion of the Greenfields capacity is a clear indication of the sizable shift by Government, and its private sector counterparts, to the advantages of data centre operation. Now with three facilities listed on the Panel, Fujitsu is clearly recognised as providing infrastructure and associated migration services to the highest standards required by Government.”

Fujitsu’s demonstrable end-to-end expertise has also seen its appointment to the Whole of Government Telecommunications Management Panel (TMAN) and the Internet Based Network Connection Services (IBNCS) Panel this year.
