Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand appoints Mike Foster as CEO

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Sydney, April 29, 2011

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand (FANZ) announced today the appointment of Mike Foster as Chief Executive Officer effective from Monday 25th April 2011. Foster’s appointment follows the recent promotion of former CEO Rod Vawdrey to President of Fujitsu’s Global Business Group.

Foster joined Fujitsu in July 2009 as Group Executive Director, Sales and Business Development. Since his appointment he has been successful in driving business strategy at the enterprise level and continuing to develop Fujitsu’s presence as a Tier 1 Technology Services Integrator.

Prior to Fujitsu, Foster spent nine years in senior executive positions at Telstra, including Managing Director, Business Sales, and more recently as Chief Executive Officer, KAZ Group. Before joining Telstra, he was Managing Director, EMC, Australia/New Zealand and Managing Director, NCR Australia.

“Mike brings a wealth of experience to the role as well a broad knowledge of the Australia/New Zealand market,” Rod Vawdrey said. “We have much to be proud of with the accomplishments of FANZ over the last five years in achieving profitable growth year on year. I am confident that, under Mike’s leadership, FANZ will continue to build on that success.”

Under Foster’s leadership, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand will continue to be a customer-focussed organisation across the region. The company will maintain its strategy to provide innovation and market leadership in all of its key solution areas including cloud services, applications services, managed services, network services and IT outsourcing.

In the last few years FANZ has made significant local investments in new technology areas including data centres, cloud services, application development and managed services. With Mike Foster at the helm the company will continue its strategy of strategic investment and growth in the region.
