Fujitsu, a leading provider of business, information technology and communications solutions has partnered with the Northern Territory Department of Planning and Infrastructure to assist the government to better manage Northern Territory assets.
The Fujitsu SAP team will support The Northern Territory Department of Planning and Infrastructure to perform an integral role in the sustainable development and growth of the Northern Territory and to improve the overall efficiency of the related business processes. The team will enhance service delivery through the Northern Territory Lands Group, Transport Group, Infrastructure Services, Construction Division and Organisational and Business Services.
Fujitsu has sourced local experts for the roles and has also relocated other specialists to comprise the team of 20 professionals. This experienced task force will deliver improved and more efficient asset management business practices and consolidate the proliferation of asset management solutions and data sources. As a priority, the team will be working on developing a blueprint design for the asset management solution using SAP and ESRI software packages.
“Our partnership with Fujitsu will build on existing business and industry capabilities in the territory in order to raise local capability in Darwin and regional areas,” states Cate Lawrence, Acting Senior Director Infrastructure Strategy and Sustainability Group, Northern Territory Department of Planning and Infrastructure. “The team work will dramatically enhance services capability in the Northern Territory and will improve the ability to manage infrastructure with the new asset management system.”
Darwin businesses are set to benefit from this service through various industry and community initiatives that have been established as part of the partnership. These include Fujitsu’s delivery of business seminars in Darwin on various technology and business processing topics.
The partnership will further educate and provide additional training to Northern Territory government agency staff on business processes. Fujitsu will be delivering industry awareness sessions to the wider Northern Territory industry in Business Process Re-engineering and Change Management concepts, assisting with wider community education on best business practices. Fujitsu will also be offering wider educational seminars on asset management.
Furthermore, Fujitsu will be delivering Enterprise Sustainability seminars to Northern Territory government executives, to provide them with an in-depth understanding of enterprise sustainability issues in their work environment and give them a starting point to drive environmental programs within their organisations.
“We are delighted to continue working with the Northern Territory Government on this project for the DPI,” states Matthew Rushton, General Manager of Northern Territory Government, Fujitsu Australia. “Delivering seminars, business advice and educational services to the local business community in Darwin highlights Fujitsu’s commitment and long term investment in the Territory. Our partnership increases local industry capability and also raises the opportunity to increase export from Darwin to interstate and international businesses.”
