Fujitsu appoints industry experts to drive retail strategy

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Sydney, June 22, 2006

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand today announced the appointment of Vaughn Clair and Conway Kosi to drive Fujitsu’s retail strategy and grow its retail business in Australia and New Zealand.

Rod Vawdrey, Chief Executive Officer, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand said, “Fujitsu is well known for its expertise in the store environment, for example at retail point of sale. While this is an important area of our business, we have tremendous capability beyond the in-store environment, in areas such as the supply chain, workforce management and business intelligence.

“Both Vaughn and Conway have a deep understanding of the retail industry and the issues affecting the industry, such as enhancing the customer experience and integrating technologies and applications. They will be actively engaged in defining and bringing to market a comprehensive offering to retailers that leverages the full extent of Fujitsu’s capability.”

IDC’s recent report titled, “Australia’s Retail and Wholesale Industry Report” named Fujitsu as a member of a small group of companies who have been identified in a leadership position to the Australian retail and wholesale sector. The respondents rated this group on the following; global industry knowledge, infrastructure, strength and technical expertise.

Vaughn Clair joins Fujitsu as National Practice Lead for Retail, Fujitsu Consulting. With more than 25 years experience in the Retail and Retail IT sectors, Vaughn is responsible for providing high level consulting services to the retail industry, including in-store and head office technology requirements and general business consulting.

Vaughn’s career has covered a broad spectrum of roles including product management, retail consulting, software development and general management. He has also undertaken lead strategy and architecture roles with major retailers covering all aspects of store systems, merchandising systems and electronic trading / supply chain management systems.

Prior to joining Fujitsu, Vaughn consulted to Coles Myer on strategy and architecture, before which he was the Product Manager, Retail & Supply Chain Management, at Technology One. Between 1993 and 2000 Vaughn co-founded and was a director of Retail Directions, Australia’s leading retail software company.

Conway Kosi joins Fujitsu as Retail Industry Director, responsible for all aspects of Fujitsu’s retail business including sales, marketing, solutions and consulting. Most recently Conway worked for SAP, where he was responsible for managing SAP’s team of solutions architects, industry leads and value engineers.

Before joining SAP in 2005, Conway worked for NCR. He held a number of local and international sales, marketing and management roles during his seventeen year career at NCR, most recently as Marketing Director and Vice President, South East Asia and India. Conway was responsible for establishing NCR’s Retail Solutions business in India and for the successful launch of NCR’s self check-out solution in Australia.
