Fujitsu Australia has signed a partnership agreement with innovative local IP telephony software developer Carbon Twelve to deliver enhanced end-user software solutions for medium-to-large business customers embracing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
The two-year partnership builds on both companies' commitment to the industry-leading BroadWorks IP telephony platform from BroadSoft, Inc. Sydney-based Carbon Twelve is a BroadSoft Certified Partner while Fujitsu is the principal systems integration partner for BroadSoft in the Asia-Pacific region, with support centres in Singapore and Melbourne.
Under the agreement, Fujitsu will market, implement and support Carbon Twelve's sophisticated IP telephony applications across Australia and New Zealand. Customers stand to benefit from VoIP solutions through cost savings, greater call control and increased productivity backed by Fujitsu's proven support and integration capability.
The Carbon Twelve applications add to Fujitsu's extensive range of VoIP solutions, including IP-based PBX systems, hosted IP Centrex services and voice VPN systems.
"This partnership further strengthens the IP telephony offerings from Fujitsu," said Brian Murphy, General Manager Telecommunications, Fujitsu Australia Limited. "Combining Fujitsu's experience and expertise in enterprise-grade communications systems with Carbon Twelve's innovative software applications creates a winning proposition for organisations attracted to Voice over IP."
"On top of Fujitsu's recent partnerships with BroadSoft, Sun Microsystems and Connect Internet Solutions, this agreement is further evidence that IP telephony is rapidly reaching a point of maturity in the Australasian marketplace."
Fujitsu will immediately offer customers access to Carbon Twelve's advanced IP telephony applications miReception and miPA. miReception is a scalable carrier-class console application for use by front-of-house receptionists and other telephone attendants who screen inbound calls for enterprises. miReception provides a productive user experience and enhances the basic attendant console functionality provided by BroadWorks.
miPA is a phone assistant application that gives desktop users a greater degree of control over their VoIP phone and call-related activities such as voicemail, call forwarding, call waiting and three-way conference calling. The miPA call management and presence product extends the functionality of the BroadWorks CommPilot Call Manager with rich features including Microsoft Outlook integration.
"miReception and miPA are intuitive and robust applications that enable IP telephony to realise its full potential," said Ray Trevisan, Vice-President, Sales and Business Development, Carbon Twelve.
"Until now, VoIP software has tried to mimic traditional phone systems without considering how the user experience could be improved. Computer-telephony integration (CTI) provides an immense opportunity to give users better design and functionality that makes advanced IP phone features genuinely easy to use. The result is vastly improved business productivity as IP phone users explore the rich VoIP functionality at their fingertips."
