YIT and Fujitsu enter into agreement on desktop services and Service Desk

The agreement covers desktop services for approximately 3,500 workstations, and the Service Desk service in Finland.

Helsinki, 24 March, 2015 YIT flagsYIT and Fujitsu Finland have signed an agreement whereby Fujitsu will deliver YIT global desktop services as per July 1, and Service Desk user support services in Finland starting from April 1. With the agreement, seven IT specialists will transfer from YIT to Fujitsu.

”Our in-house resources are no longer enough. Well-oiled IT is vital to us, so we wanted to find a partner with the resources to invest in the continual improvement and innovation of IT services. Our goal is to maintain consistent service level, even at peak times,” says CIO Vesa Pirinen of YIT.

The agreement covers desktop services for approximately 3,500 workstations, and the Service Desk service in Finland. Circa half of YIT’s personnel is based in Finland, and a third in Russia. The company also has operations in the Baltic countries, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

”We chose Fujitsu, because the company was able to offer the best set of services. With the desktop services, the decisive factor was that Fujitsu is able to provide the service also in Russia and in Russian. Moreover, it was important to us that the personnel transfer be conducted in a controlled manner,” Pirinen continues.

According to him, YIT values IT vendor’s sufficient understanding of the customer’s business.

”We find it important that our partner is aware of our priorities, knows how to listen and take heed of feedback. Development outlook is promising. For example, we are planning to create new, modern service channels for end users, such as a self-service portal and chat,” Pirinen says.

”YIT is a new and highly inspiring customer to us. They have professional IT management and an up-to-date IT environment, which makes me confident our cooperation will work well. They already use several modern solutions, such as Office 365. With Fujitsu assuming the responsibility for their IT infrastructure, they will be able to focus on developing their core business even better than before,” says MD Henry Nieminen of Fujitsu.
