Axfood, one of the biggest food retailers in Scandinavia, expands its partnership with Fujitsu. The two companies have entered into a long term agreement under which Fujitsu will deliver a wide range of services for support, maintenance and development of POS solutions.
With the new agreement, Fujitsu is one of Axfood's largest suppliers of IT.
"We have had a good working relationship with Fujitsu for a number of years and look forward to further deepening our commitment, says Jan Lindmark, CIO at Axfood. Through this new agreement, Fujitsu becomes one of our largest IT service providers.
In total, the agreement currently covers more than 420 stores within the retail chains Hemköp, Willys, Willys Hemma and associated chains Tempo, Pris Extra, Snabbgross and Eurocash. The services provided by Fujitsu include technical support, help desk, problem management, field services, configuration and preparation services as well as proactive model replacement programs. One example of the assignment is that Fujitsu during the autumn will help Axfood to convert about 50 Vi stores to Hemköp in Stockholm.
Axfood and Fujitsu's cooperation also includes the development of store concepts, and data recovery of POS equipment in line with both companies' focus on climate, environment and sustainable development. Axfood and Fujitsu have already collaborated on the development and introduction of what is called “self check out solutions”.
