Oy Karl Fazer Ab and Fujitsu Services Oy have signed a framework agreement that covers an SAP Enterprise Resource Planning system. Fazer Bakeries, part of Fazer Group, begins this co-operation with an SAP Project Delivery Agreement signed on 30 March.

The SAP project comprises Fazer Bakeries’ Finnish bakeries, the largest of which are located in Vantaa, and in Lahti. The company’s sales, production management, deliveries, and material and financial administration will all move to the new ERP system.

The new SAP will replace a tailored enterprise resource planning system that has been in use for 20 years. Fazer has some previous experience of smaller SAP entities in, for example, its financial administration.

The SAP project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2006. In conjunction with the project agreement, a letter of intent was also signed to cover support, maintenance and further development. These services will become of current interest once the SAP project has been rolled out.

Fazer Group comprises three divisions: Fazer Amica, Fazer Bakeries and Candyking. The framework agreement now signed also makes it possible to extend the SAP service operations to other divisions at a later date.
