Fujitsu Finland to provide centralized Service Desk and desktop services to OP Financial Group

Fujitsu is responsible for the management of the Service Desk service chain, and the service request lifecycle.

Helsinki, helmikuu 18, 2016 OP Financial Group and Fujitsu Finland have entered into an IT infrastructure services contract, thereby also agreeing on a service desk expansion. The service covers the 15,500 desktops of all in all 13,200 end-users. The contract is valued at more than 20 million euros.
 
”We believe that by expanding our current service contract with Fujitsu and by centralizing the Service Desk services to one service vendor we will be able to significantly enhance our service and use experience,” says OP’s Oskari Kurki, Director, Technology Services Production.

During 2015, the Service Desk service provided to the OP Group was expanded to cover a centralized Service Desk for both IT infrastructure and applications. Fujitsu is responsible for the management of the Service Desk service chain, and the service request lifecycle. As needed, the service requests will be forwarded to third parties, however, the aim is to resolve an even increasingly large proportion of all service requests at Fujitsu Service Desk.
 
”Fujitsu Service Desk is genuinely responsible for the entire process: reception of the service requests, resolving them, forwarding them to third party assignment groups, communication, closing the tickets, and for gathering customer feedback, says MD Henry Nieminen of Fujitsu.

The cooperation between OP and Fujitsu has been ongoing for years, starting from an extensive outsourcing contract signed in August 2012. The first contract covered desktop deliveries, maintenance, lifecycle management and support services.
 
Fujitsu was selected as partner after competitive bidding. The selection criteria particularly emphasized were vendor reliability, expertise, service quality, and compatibility with customer requirements.
