Saint-Gobain to procure a flexible set of IT services from Fujitsu

Helsinki, syyskuu 10, 2013 Building materials manufacturer Saint-Gobain Rakennustuotteet Oy and Fujitsu Finland have entered into an IT services agreement, which will be implemented using Fujitsu's Patja managed service model. The contract extends an initial collaboration launched in 2010.

The other Finnish Saint-Gobain companies, Saint-Gobain Weber Oy Ab, LVI-Dahl Oy, Saint-Gobain Pipe Systems Oy and Saint-Gobain Glass Finland Oy, will also continue with the Patja services. The brands of the companies, among others, include Kahi, Leca, Vetonit, Gyproc, Isover, Sekurit, EGLAS. All in all, the companies employ 1,000 people at approximately 30 offices across Finland.

”The three-year collaboration with Fujitsu has proven their capability to provide professional and flexible IT services. The services have successfully catered to the needs of our variably specialized and geographically decentralized environment – we have five companies that operate in different industries and offices across Finland. They all have different needs and expectations in terms of IT services,” says CIO Jan Aasa of Saint-Gobain Technology Services Finland and Baltics unit.

”Throughout our collaboration, our IT services have evolved, and we have also deployed new services. Achieving results that satisfy both parties require sustained and persistent cooperation. These things as well as the competitive cost level achieved in agreement negotiations serve as good grounds to continue our collaboration with Fujitsu,” Jan Aasa continues.

The Patja agreement covers IT infrastructure services, such as service desk and on-site support as well as server availability services as a capacity service. The delivery, pre-configuration and configuration of workstations are also included. Along with the renewed agreement, the service processes were further specified and the scope of on-site support was expanded. Moreover, the product services expanded to cover the secure erasure and disposal of devices.
