Fujitsu Shows How Connected Retail Boosts the Bottom Line at EuroCIS 2019
- Fujitsu will showcase how to achieve Connected Retail with innovative solutions to enhance the customer experience, drive down operating costs and boost the bottom line
- Fujitsu demonstrates innovative AI-powered solutions providing an interactive, personalised shopping experience while protecting revenue by helping eliminate self-scan fraud
- Fujitsu highlights breakthrough technologies to transform the shopping experience, including full basket scanning in one operation
At EuroCIS, Fujitsu is showcasing how Connected Retail can be achieved through the integration of new innovative solutions, underlined and supported by technology such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). These help retailers to get ahead of the competition, provide new insights about shoppers and processes and help achieve business objectives such as reaching greater cost competitiveness.
For example, the Fujitsu 360° Grocery Journey showcase takes a unique perspective, acknowledging that the customer retail experience has more than one dimension. It looks at how digital technology can connect the needs and demands of both customers and employees to enable retailers to deliver a seamless customer journey between the online and offline world. In short, it creates both the ultimate customer experience and delivers full transparency for retailers.
At EuroCIS, Fujitsu shows that connectivity is king
Retail digital connectivity is highly sought-after by global retailers, as confirmed by recent research across 17 countries. This found that three in four retailers1
agree that connectivity is vital for harnessing business innovation. Three in four also agree that the availability of data from across multiple points in the retail chain has already helped improve the products and services they provide. At EuroCIS, Fujitsu Connected Retail will provide powerful, real-time examples of how retailers can use multiple sources of data to both improve the customer experience for shoppers while also reducing operating costs.
Fujitsu showcases frictionless checkout through full-basket scanning
Full basket scanning in a fashion store, using RFID, shows how Fujitsu is making it possible to give shoppers a frictionless checkout experience. Scanning an entire basket in one go provides unprecedented benefits in terms of time, cost and convenience. The solution connects RFID solutions to the point of sale (PoS) and shop floor, enabling retailers to deliver a customer experience that champions convenience and flexibility, while also empowering store associates and helping support loss prevention.
More than half (56 percent) of retailers questioned in the recent Fujitsu survey were confident that AI will transform the services and products they offer customers. With this in mind, AI insights being showcased at the Fujitsu booth outline how retailers can leverage AI to enhance the customer experience, while also protecting revenue.
At EuroCIS, Fujitsu highlights how AI is already transforming retail
A powerful demonstration on the Fujitsu booth at EuroCIS shows how to eradicate fraud at self-checkouts through using AI to check that barcodes match the actual product being scanned – a very current topic after a teenager was recently arrested for labelling a PlayStation with a barcode from a supermarket’s fruit and vegetables section and using this to fool the self-checkout. Also, a new Fujitsu PoS fraud prevention solution, which uses SAP Customer Activity Repository (SAP CAR) to rapidly identify irregularities at the PoS, is shown on the SAP booth, #B42 in Hall 10.
In another highlight of how AI is transforming retail, Fujitsu will show AI-powered interactive solutions on the shelf that help fashion retailers engage with shoppers both inside and outside the store, through the use of personalised and dynamic pricing models and interactive signage.
Bruno Sirletti, VP, Head of Retail & Hospitality Sector at Fujitsu EMEIA, says: “The next five years in retail are going to be incredibly exciting and challenging. Exciting, because we can now connect just about everything across the retail value chain and channel with AI and advanced analytics to deliver intelligent, business-improving decisions. Challenging, because the competition just keeps on ratcheting higher in this industry, which already operates on extremely tight margins. At EuroCIS, Fujitsu is showing how digital technology can help retailers improve customer relationships while also increasing cost competitiveness.”
Additional showcases at EuroCIS underline Fujitsu’s ServiceNow integration expertise, including solutions for store management and customer care services. As a managed service provider, Fujitsu delivers end-to-end ServiceNow solutions, from consultancy, implementation, integration, service orchestration and stakeholder communication, through to training and support. Full lifecycle support enables retailers to redefine their digital workflows and consolidate them on to a single enterprise cloud platform. This enhances the experiences for both customers and employees and unlocks productivity for both individuals and companies alike.
