Primergy TX300 S4 Server Delivers Top Price-to-Performance Result in Latest Benchmark Test

Leading regional IT and communications solutions provider Fujitsu Asia today announced that the Primergy TX300 S4 tower server has delivered the best price-to-performance result in a new benchmark test developed in the US.

In an official “TPC Benchmark E” (TPC-E) test*, the Primergy TX300 S4 achieved 317.45 transactions per second (tpsE) and a price-per-tpsE figure of US$523.49. In comparison, no other servers with a similar system configuration could achieve a price-per-tpsE figure below US$600. The test result (available at www.tpc.org/tpce/tpce_price_perf_results.asp) shows that the Primergy TX300 S4 offers vastly superior processing power on a per-dollar basis, compared to other commercially available machines from competing vendors.

The TPC-E test simulates the online transaction processing workload of a stock brokerage firm, and provides a gauge of a server’s suitability for use in the brokerage industry. It was developed by the Transaction Processing Performance Council (www.tpc.org), a US-based non-profit corporation founded to define transaction processing and database benchmarks.

• two quad-core Intel Xeon X5460 processors
• 64GB of random access memory
• 188 hard disk drives, each with a storage capacity of 73GB and a maximum data rate of 3 gigabits per second
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x64 Edition
• Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise x64 Edition
