Fujitsu Frontech Group Environmental Report Received the Excellent Award of Climate Change Report as part of the 24th Environmental Communication Awards

Tokyo, February 24, 2021 – "Fujitsu Frontech Group Environmental Report 2020" received the Excellent Award of Climate Change Report (Global Environmental Forum Chairman's Award) as part of the 24th Environmental Communication Awards (sponsored by Japanese Ministry of the Environment and the Global Environmental Forum).
The report was highly regarded for promoting initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout its business activities in accordance with its road map towards zero CO2 emissions by 2050, and aiming to achieve the target by providing solutions from the perspective of lifecycle.
Fujitsu Frontech Group will continue to contribute to solving environmental issues and development of sustainable society and economy, as well as disclose its environmental activities actively.

About Environmental Communication Awards

The Awards are designed to revitalize environmental efforts of enterprises and improve their environmental communication, by recognizing excellent environmental reports.

Reasons for Evaluation (Criteria)

  • Making a road map towards zero CO2 emissions by 2050 in line with the Fujitsu Group medium-to long-term environmental vision, TCFD(*1) and SBT(*2).
  • Promoting initiatives to reduce GHG emissions derived from its products and business activities in accordance with the road map and aiming to achieve the target by providing solutions from the perspective of lifecycle of products and services.
  • Working on environmental activities in the whole Group inside and outside Japan, including taking part continuously in award schemes of Japanese local governmental agencies such as Niigata Prefecture and promoting initiatives according to areas outside Japan.

Fujitsu Frontech Group Environmental Report 2020

It mainly introduces Fujitsu Frontech Group's activities in response to climate change such as TCFD and SBT, which are now global trends, and activities related to SDGs.
Concretely, it discloses information in accordance with the TCFD framework and reports initiatives to reduce GHG emissions towards achievement of "FUJITSU Climate and Energy Vision" of Fujitsu Group medium-to long term environmental vision and its contribution to achieve SDGs through SDGs contribution solutions.
In preparing this report, we referred to the items presented in the "Environmental Reporting Guidelines 2018" published by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment.

    The Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures. Established by Financial Stability Board (FSB) at the request of G20 with the objective to reduce the risk of instability in the financial market due to climate change. It recommends companies to disclose information on 4 themes relevant to climate-related risks and opportunities, which consist of "Governance", "Strategy", "Risk Management" and "Metrics and Targets".

    Science Based Target. A joint initiative to encourage enterprises to set GHG reduction targets that are scientifically consistent with the Paris Agreement.
