About Us
Fujitsu Research & Development Center Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned research and development institution with independent legal status in China founded by Fujitsu in Feb. 1998, which has been recognized as a high-tech enterprise and R&D institution by Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission. We are engaged in research and development of AI Technologies, Converging Technologies, Data & Security Technologies, and Network Technologies, etc.
The R&D headquarter is located in Beijing, with a branch in Shanghai.

Since established in Beijing in 1998, FRDC has been contributing to Fujitsu's business with creating many innovative technologies for more than a quarter of a century.
At the time of its establishment, its major role was research offshoring to support Fujitsu Research in Japan. However, over a quarter of a century, through the continuous recruiting of excellent researchers and each researcher’s relentless inquisitiveness and research activities, FRDC has now become an important research institution of Fujitsu Research’s global structure.
In recent years, in the AI technology area, FRDC has been producing innovative applied technologies solving real customer issues. Those technologies have been highly evaluated by customers, won the first place in various international competitions, and expected to incorporate to UVANCE to lead Fujitsu's global business. In the communication technology area, FRDC has been leading Fujitsu's efforts to standardize 5G and future mobile network technologies, creating our own advanced optical communication technologies and enhancing Fujitsu's global presence.
Global technology development competition is becoming more and more intense. As an R&D base in China, where there are many excellent researchers and the speed of social implementation of the latest technologies is fast, FRDC is important and valuable not only as a base for creating innovative technologies, but also as an antenna for identifying technological trends unique to China.
FRDC is deeply aware of our own role in whole Fujitsu and will contribute to the realization of Fujitsu's purpose through research and development of technologies that will transform society.
