Fujitsu Semiconductor Develops World’s First 360° Wraparound View System with Approaching Object Detection

Singapore, May 27, 2013 – Fujitsu Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd (FSAL) today announced the development of MB86R24, the company’s third-generation high-performance graphic SoCs for automotive applications. The new product will be made available in sample quantities starting in August 2013, along with the related software.

Fujitsu Semiconductor Releases Two New Energy Harvesting Power Management IC Products, Contributing to a Low Carbon Society

Singapore, May 13, 2013 – Fujitsu Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd (FSAL) today announced the release of two new power management IC products developed to utilize energy harvesting, the MB39C811 DC/DC buck converter and the MB39C831 DC/DC boost converter. Sample shipments for the two new products are scheduled to start in June of this year.

Fujitsu expands its FM3 Family of 32-bit Microcontrollers with New Versions Featuring High-Capacity Memory, Low-Pin-Count Packaging

Singapore, April 24, 2013 – Fujitsu Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd (FSAL) today announced the launch of an upgraded lineup of its FM3 Family of 32-bit general-purpose RISC microcontrollers based on the ARM® Cortex™-M3 processor core. In total, Fujitsu Semiconductor is releasing 38 new products, including the MB9BF529TPMC, which is equipped with high-capacity memory, and the MB9BF121JPMC, which features low pin count packaging. Sample quantities of the new products will incrementally be made available starting May 10, 2013. The new lineup is optimal for system control in household appliances, office automation equipment, and industrial equipment.

A*STAR and Fujitsu Set Up First Centre of Excellence to Build A Greener Singapore

Singapore, March 26, 2013 – Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), and Fujitsu Limited (Fujitsu) have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to study the establishment of the first Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Computational Social Science and Engineering in Singapore. The purpose of the CoE is to identify technological solutions and opportunities for sustainable urban development in key areas such as transportation management and energy efficiency with high performance computing (HPC)-enabled technologies based on real-world data.

Fujitsu Semiconductor Releases New 1 Mbit and 2 Mbit FRAM Products

Singapore, March 25, 2013 – Fujitsu Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd (FSAL) today announced the development of two new FRAM products, MB85RS1MT and MB85RS2MT, which feature 1 Mbit and 2 Mbit of memory, respectively, making them the largest density serial-interface FRAM products offered by Fujitsu Semiconductor. The new products will be made available in sample quantities starting end of March 2013.

Fujitsu Advances Healthcare Innovation in Collaboration with National University of Singapore

Singapore, November 26, 2012 – Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe Limited, Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd and the National University of Singapore (NUS) today announced an important collaboration to establish a new joint research programme - Body Sensor Network for Disease Management and Prevention-Oriented Healthcare. Moving Forward on Energy Efficiency: Fujitsu Semiconductor Aims to Start Production of GaN Power Devices

Singapore, November 20, 2012 – Fujitsu Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd (FSAL) announced that it successfully achieved high output power of 2.5kW in server power supply units equipped with gallium-nitride (GaN) power devices built on a silicon substrate. Fujitsu Semiconductor aims to start volume production of the GaN power devices in the second half of 2013. These devices will enable Fujitsu Semiconductor to propose their use in a wide variety of value-enhancing power supply applications, significantly contributing to the realization of a low-carbon society. Fujitsu Semiconductor is aiming to achieve approximately 10 billion yen in sales of GaN power devices in fiscal 2015.

Fujitsu Semiconductor announces two complete Families of 32-bit Microcontrollers adopting ARM Cortex-M4 and -M0+ core

Singapore, November 15, 2012 – Fujitsu Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd (FSAL) announced the launch of the new FM4 Family of 32-bit general purpose RISC microcontrollers based on ARM® Cortex™-M4 processor core, as well as a new FM0+ family adopting the Cortex-M0+ core. Fujitsu plans to release sample quantities of products in these new families within 2013, and will also begin full-scale production of these products later in the year. Combined with current FM3 Family of microcontrollers, the group of products featuring the Cortex-M4, M3, and M0+ processor cores will amount to a line-up of more than 700 different products. These products with a consistent architecture & flexibly now more broadly meet the growing customer need for higher performance and lower power consumption.

Fujitsu Demonstrates Ultra-High-Speed Short-Reach Data Transmission Based on Multi-level Signaling and Advanced ADC/DAC Technology

Singapore, October 22, 2012 – Fujitsu Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd (FSAL has demonstrated the transmission of >100Gbps over a single CEI-28G-VSR channel, effectively quadrupling the data rate throughput defined by the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) for this chip-to-chip electrical interface. This serves as a benchmark for what can be achieved over short-reach electrical channels using the same field-proven CMOS converter technology deployed in long-haul optical transport systems today. Key to the study is a comparison of the relative advantages and disadvantages of PAM (Pulse-amplitude Modulation) encoding versus DMT (Discrete Multi-Tone) over this particular channel. The test and demonstration platform is based on the test chips and evaluation boards for the family of 40nm, 65GSps CMOS converters (“LEIA” DAC for transmit and “LUKE” ADC for receive).

Fujitsu Semiconductor Launches FRAM New Product Base on Wide Range Voltage from 2.7V to 5.5V

Singapore, October 16, 2012 – Fujitsu Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd (FSAL) announced today a new addition to its V series, MB85RC256V. So far, the company has released FRAM products of V series covering capacities of 4Kbit, 16Kbit, 64Kbit and 256Kbit. MB85RC256V is Fujitsu’s first FRAM product that operates in voltages ranging from 2.7V to 5.5V, which benefits design in areas that require components of wide voltage range.
