Fujitsu Frontech North America Announces Asset Planning Tool™ (APT)

Excel™-based software tool enables OEM customers to predict currency usage and ROI in recycling units

Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc.

Foothill Ranch, CA, October 11, 2011

Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a leading provider of IT-based business solutions, including cash handling, biometric security, and digital media solutions, today announced the Asset Planning Tool™ APT version 1.0, an Excel-based software tool that will enable OEM customers to enter their customer’s unique currency handling data, and calculate replenishment benchmarks vs. usage patterns. Designed to complement the Fujitsu Frontech G60 bill recycling unit, (See G60 press release) the Asset Planning Tool will allow customers to enter their specific currency handling attributes like expected deposits and withdrawals to determine the most efficient use of currency. For a complimentary demonstration of the Asset Planning Tool, please visit the Fujitsu Frontech North America booth, # 1419 during the BAI Retail Delivery Show, October 11-13, 2011 in Chicago’s McCormick Place.

As the costs of cash, measured in opportunity costs and cash-in-transit, continue to increase, there arises a need to use cash more effectively and efficiently throughout the day. And it is important to have the correct mix and quantity of denominations available on hand when the need arises. The Asset Planning Tool takes a number of key usage variables into consideration such as length of shift or day, beginning cash, optimal replenishment, denomination mix and quantity, expected withdrawals and deposits by denominations. The model will help end-users ensure there is enough currency, in the correct denominations during peak periods and not tie up unproductive cash during lull periods, while optimizing provisional credit.

“As customers begin to look at currency recycling as a viable option, being able to calculate and address the usage patterns of cash will become a critical element in an overall successful currency handling program,” according to Randy Fox, Director, Currency Handling Solutions, Fujitsu Frontech North America. “The Asset Planning Tool will objectively determine usage patterns and ultimately, if currency recycling is the most cost effective way to address your currency handling needs. Given the current run rate, it will determine how quickly you can expect your ROI.”

Fujitsu’s family of OEM currency handling products have the quality, reliability, and advanced feature functionality required to offer true value-add and control the up-front design and recurring product support / maintenance cost. Fujitsu offers OEM currency dispensers like the F50, F53, F56, F400, F510, and bulk currency acceptors and currency recyclers like the G610/611 and G60 for a wide range of budget, volume and configuration requirements
