USCarrier Telecom and Fujitsu Upgrade Georgia Network to Enhance Services and Increase Capacity

Fujitsu Network Communications Inc.

Atlanta, GA, September 24, 2007

USCarrier Telecom, LLC., a wholesale provider of high-speed, long-haul, fiber optic transport, and Fujitsu Network Communications, a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, announced today plans to upgrade an existing OC-48 ring that will allow USCarrier to deliver advanced SONET, Ethernet and wavelength services. The network upgrade is set to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2007.

This upgrade will connect Points of Presence (POPS) in Georgia from Savannah to Waycross, Waycross to Valdosta and Valdosta to Macon. USCarrier is deploying both the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE® 7420 Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems and FLASHWAVE 4500 Multiservice Provisioning Platforms (MSPPs) on the company’s current OC-48 ring.

The addition of the DWDM platform will allow USCarrier to increase the capacity of the existing network, while the SONET platform provides scalable SONET across the network and will enable the company to deliver carrier-class TDM and Ethernet services. Increased bandwidth, service flexibility and Ethernet services will provide USCarrier new revenue-generating opportunities.

“USCarrier is constantly evaluating cost-effective, reliable solutions to enhance our network and complement the services we offer,” said Jack Roberts, VP of Sales for USCarrier. “We have seen an increased interest in carrier Ethernet and a growing demand for increased bandwidth. This OC-48 ring upgrade will allow us to quickly meet those demands and allow us to be more competitive in those emergent markets.”

“We are extremely proud to be part of USCarrier’s plans to deliver innovative, cost-effective and reliable networking solutions to their subscribers throughout Georgia,” said Jim Hintze, senior vice president of marketing at Fujitsu Network Communications. “This upgrade is part of their long-term strategic plan to enable next-generation, state-of-the-art networks throughout all of their metro and regional networks.”
