Fujitsu uSCALE provides a best-of-both-worlds paradigm. Customers gain immediate access to the latest high-end infrastructure technology with no upfront payment, plus the flexibility to scale up and down, depending on whether things go well or if there is further disruption. This highly customer-centric approach allows businesses to pay for enterprise technology only on a usage basis.
The pandemic has intensified the need to transform business operations and services, but cash is more precious than usual. Fujitsu uSCALE supports business transformation and enables the pace and agility needed by businesses responding to the crisis, with zero-capex, scalable, on-premises IT resources that are measurable, cost-transparent and aligned to business needs. It provides a zero-risk route to the hybrid IT environments that many organisations are now constructing to increase their resilience, agility and flexibility.
Fujitsu is actively seeking engagement with SELECT partners looking to build uSCALE offerings into their own consumption-based services provided to end customers. In one example, Fujitsu uSCALE enabled service provider Harbor Solutions to source the digital transformation it needed to deliver backup, disaster recovery and object storage. Harbor Solutions uses a uSCALE consumption model that shifts costs from capex to opex and provides expandable data centre capacity to meet variations in data demands.
Fujitsu uSCALE is service and product agnostic. Data centre products and services from Fujitsu and its technology partners can be combined flexibly to work with contributions from multiple suppliers, leveraging Fujitsu’s extensive ecosystem of technology, channel and service provider partners.
Pricing and availability
Fujitsu is launching uSCALE in nine countries (Germany, UK&I, Finland, Sweden, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, & Luxembourg) and expects to announce further European rollout in the next six months. The bespoke nature of uSCALE means customers can focus on outcomes they are looking to achieve, with a charging model that is flexible and optimised to the solution in place, such as charge per node, per Terabyte of data or even robotic process.
