Fujitsu Optimises Data Centre Economics with New PRIMEQUEST Servers for Mission-Critical Computing

News facts:

  • New PRIMEQUEST E models lead latest line-up of fully refreshed Fujitsu x86 servers for the digital age
  • Designed for the Intel® Xeon® Scalable family, PRIMEQUEST E and PRIMERGY M4 server generations combine exceptional workload-optimised performance with maximum efficiency and flexibility
  • New models extend Fujitsu’s comprehensive server portfolio to meet organisations’ digital transformation demands across all industries and application scenarios
London, November 06, 2017

Fujitsu today announces the availability of a series of new, fully refreshed PRIMERGY and PRIMEQUEST servers designed for the business demands of the digital era. Featuring the latest Intel® Xeon® Processor Scalable family, Fujitsu’s updated server range introduces new, state-of-the-art system designs delivering optimised performance and providing flexible configurability for a wide variety of compute, storage, networking and server management requirements.

Fujitsu’s latest server series is led by the Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST 3800E and PRIMEQUEST 3400E systems, which offer superior performance and optimised efficiency for the most demanding mission-critical environments. These systems dramatically simplify the server architecture for mission-critical computing and are delivered in an all-new 7U form factor. The new models provide enhanced performance in a significantly smaller form factor, resulting in lower power consumption and helping to reduce the environmental footprint in a data centre leading to significant cost savings. Moreover, the mission-critical features of these systems, including advanced RAS features, enable outstanding platform reliability for maximum uptime making these servers a robust and cost effective solution for mission-critical applications including critical UNIX workloads/UNIX migrations as well as high-volume, high-value workloads such as online transaction processing (OLTP), batch processing, database applications and real-time analytics.

Also new are additions to the line-up of PRIMERGY x86 servers, with the introduction of the advanced dual-socket tower powerhouse PRIMERGY TX2550 M4 and the entry-level dual-socket rack server PRIMERGY RX2520 M43. Both are powerful and flexible solutions for a wide range of computing applications, including the use of collaboration platforms and workloads which have intensive storage requirements.

Tailored computing solutions for wide range of requirements

Tailored server solutions are available for every requirement, thanks to the wide range of Fujitsu PRIMERGY and PRIMEQUEST servers – from full virtualisation and running mission-critical applications through to file/print. In addition to different size and form factors – with the choice of rack and tower – all PRIMERGY M4 series servers provide customisable compute, memory, storage and networking options.

Olivier Delachapelle, Head of Data Centre Category Management at Fujitsu EMEIA, says: “The digital era demands that organisations are able to provide computing solutions to specific application and workload needs – and to find a balance between over- or under-sizing. The fully refreshed line-up of Fujitsu x86 PRIMEQUEST and PRIMERGY servers offers optimised performance, cost and flexibility for virtually any computing task, usage scenario, market segment and business requirement, helping accelerate digital transformation while keeping costs under control.”

All new Fujitsu servers provide simplified, remote server management across their entire lifecycle via the Fujitsu ServerView® Suite with the integrated Remote Management Controller iRMC S5.

Pricing and availability

The all-new range of PRIMERGY and PRIMEQUEST servers is available worldwide from Fujitsu and via distribution partners. Prices vary by region, model and configuration.

Notes to editors

1The PRIMEQUEST 3800E and 3400E systems dramatically simplify server architecture for mission-critical computing with an all-new 7U form factor that helps reduce power consumption and data centre costs. Featuring four/eight of the Intel® Xeon® Processor Scalable Family provided with up to 112/224 cores and up to 12 TB DDR4 memory, the PRIMEQUEST 3400E/3800E provide unprecedented performance and memory capacity for demanding solutions. Moreover, the mission-critical features of these systems enable outstanding platform reliability with innovative error prevention and self-healing capabilities.

2The TX2550 M4 dual-socket tower server leads the line-up of PRIMERGY TX models. A brand new ‘all in one’ unit, it is designed for businesses that need optimum performance and cost-effectiveness in a powerful and flexible server. Versatile and scalable by design and including a rack option, it is suitable for a wide range of demanding applications, virtualised workloads and high-storage capacity requirements. The PRIMERGY TX2550 M4 features the latest DDR4 memory (up to 768 GB) and expandable storage capacity of up to 32 hard drives with advanced RAID as well as DynamicLOM and high-bandwidth networking options, making it ideal for meeting high-data transfer needs and handling storage centric requirements such as collaboration/IT infrastructure workloads.

3The entry-level dual-socket rack server PRIMERGY RX2520 M4 offers unprecedented scalability for essential business applications. Its well-balanced price/performance ratio and feature set make it ideal for service providers and businesses that need a versatile and cost effective server for infrastructure tasks, as well as for baseline data centre workloads. The PRIMERGY RX2520 M4 has up to 384 GB DDR4 memory and a storage capacity of up to 24 drives in a compact and modular 2U chassis, and allows for flexible upgrades to network, RAID and storage.
