News facts:

  • Fujitsu to implement SAP solutions to transform its entire back office systems and processes in the EMEIA region
  • Fujitsu and SAP to co-innovate on Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence services
  • SAP and Fujitsu enable joint customer base to benefit from new integrated, industry-specific services, leveraging IoT technologies
London, November 08, 2017

Fujitsu is standardizing on SAP solutions to transform processes in the Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) region, helping ensure that Fujitsu’s own systems are ready to meet the demands of an era of unprecedented digital disruption.

The investment in SAP solutions includes the introduction of SAP Ariba¹ to deliver a single, integrated cloud solution to replace five separate procurement environments, as announced recently. The OneERP initiative will enable Fujitsu to modernize operational functions including finance, procurement and supply chain management.

Today’s news strengthens the relationship between Fujitsu and SAP. In June of this year, the companies announced a Memorandum of Understanding outlining the scope of co-creation, which will focus initially on SAP S/4HANA and foster links between SAP Leonardo and Fujitsu Human Centric AI Zinrai.

Fujitsu and SAP will deliver high performing, innovative new cloud solutions to customers on a global basis. In the first instance, Fujitsu and SAP will co-develop solutions for the Discrete and Process Manufacturing Industries. This involves the design and delivery of end-to-end offerings that combine software and services from both parties. Fujitsu and SAP also plan to collaborate to scale the Fujitsu Cloud Service K5 to deliver enterprise-grade SAP applications in a flexible, scalable on-demand format. In addition to closer cooperation on a technical level, SAP and Fujitsu will develop and offer new go-to-market models and applications. These include a series of industry-specific services that leverage Fujitsu’s IoT expertise in using SAP HANA as a unifying data platform.

Duncan Tait, CEO, SEVP and Head of Americas and EMEIA at Fujitsu, says: “ERP is undergoing a seismic change, both in terms of how it is perceived and the difference it can make to companies. We are investing in SAP solutions to transform our own business processes, enabling us to take advantage of the scalability and accessibility of the cloud, across our entire procurement lifecycle. We look forward to collaborating more deeply with SAP to extend these benefits to our customer base, enabling them to stay ahead through transforming their business and strengthening strategic functions by offering intelligent, end-to-end view of the enterprise.”

Robert Enslin, Member of the SAP Executive Board and President, Cloud Business Group, comments: “Digital transformation requires the agility and flexibility that only a cloud infrastructure can provide, and a company’s core ERP system is no exception. SAP is constantly expanding and enhancing the depth and breadth of its cloud offerings to ensure customers, like Fujitsu, can effectively manage their end-to-end business while keeping up with the breakneck pace of change in the industry and expectations of consumers and employees alike. Through our expanded partnership, Fujitsu and SAP will combine our complementary skills to offer customers even more options to stay ahead of the technology evolution and drive a robust innovation and business transformation agenda.”
