High Capacity Storage for DVR, CE and IT Applications
Fujitsu raises the bar yet again with its latest 2.5" Serial ATA (SATA) Hard Disk Drive (HDD) series. Featuring 500GB(1) capacity with best-in-class energy efficiency, the new HDD is designed to support high volume storage for products such as digital video recording, external hard drives and desktop replacement notebooks.
Innovative Technology
The MHZ2 BT series HDD is the fourth generation of high capacity 4,200 RPM SATA mobile drive. It requires only 1.8 W of power for read and write operations, ranking it the most power-efficient HDD in its class.
Its performance is competitive with the 5,400 RPM 3-platter HDDs, while offering advantages of lower power consumption and whisper quiet operation. The lower power draw is ideal for devices that are powered through a USB interface. The MHZ2 BT series HDD is one of many new products announced as part of Fujitsu's Green Policy Innovation Program, unveiled in December 2007, to promote energy-efficient products and services as a way to help customers lower their ecological footprint.
With the expansion of HD digital broadcasts and internet-based video, high-capacity and high-performance hard disk drives are needed for large volume data storage. The MHZ2 BT series HDD also supports the Serial ATA 3.0 Gb/s interface for high-speed data transfers.
