YM Inc. to Deploy Fujitsu’s TeamPoS 3000, Services Across Bluenotes and Siblings Retail Chains

Canadian Fashion Retailer Upgrades Technology to Increase Reliability and Efficiency

Frisco, TX, July 9, 2007 — Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. today announced that Canadian fashion retailer, YM Inc., will deploy more than 400 TeamPoS 3000 point-of-sale (POS) terminals across its 117-store Bluenotes chain and 17-store Siblings chain. The deal also includes a three-year service agreement under Fujitsu’s Retainer Plus program.

The rollout will begin in early-July with a projected completion date in October, just before the holiday season.

"Our old POS hardware at Bluenotes and Siblings has become unreliable and replacement parts are hard to find. We needed a new system with improved availability and dependability that would increase the efficiency of our point-of-sale process," said Mignon Young-Bonner, director of POS systems and support at Toronto-based YM Inc. "Based on our evaluation and strong customer references, Fujitsu’s TeamPoS 3000 matched and/or exceeded our requirements, and the system will play an instrumental role as we transition to Microsoft’s Windows Embedded for Point of Service platform. We selected WEPOS as the operating system of choice for its ease of deployment and maintenance, optimization for retail scenarios, and its overall lower total cost of ownership."

The TeamPoS 3000 POS system, based on Intel® Pentium® M and Celeron® M processors, offers improved reliability, enhanced serviceability and support for the latest peripheral technology. The terminals adhere to RoHS and WEEE "green" standards, and feature a strategically designed chassis that offers easy access to major components from the front, reducing retailers’ downtime and maintenance costs.

"The TeamPoS 3000 has become an easy choice among North American retailers as a reliable, flexible and cost-cutting POS system, and this agreement with YM illustrates that trend," said Peter Sciberras, general manager and vice president of sales, Canada, Fujitsu Transaction Solutions. "We look forward to making YM’s Bluenotes and Siblings technology overhaul a huge success, and our Retainer Plus services program will ensure that success continues."

Fujitsu’s Retainer Plus Services Model redefines the store systems maintenance contract, and offers an incentive-based program under which the retailer and Fujitsu collaborate to reduce redundant and low-value service activity. The result is an efficient and effective program that continually lowers retailers’ maintenance costs and improves equipment up-time.
