Dress Barn, Inc. Selects Fujitsu as a Perfect Fit for In-Store Retail Technology, Services

New Agreement Includes Fujitsu Software, POS Hardware and Maintenance Services


Frisco, TX, April 30, 2007 — Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. today announced a new agreement with Dress Barn, Inc. (NASDAQ: DBRN) that will upgrade in-store hardware, software and services for the retailer’s 800-store dressbarn and 500-store maurices brands. The deal enhances Fujitsu’s ongoing relationship with Dress Barn, Inc. that dates back to 2004.

The new agreement for in-store retail technology includes the following components for both the dressbarn and maurices brands:

  • GlobalSTORE – Microsoft Windows®-based integrated retail software platform with full-featured POS, cash management and back office applications. GlobalSTORE was recently positioned in the Leaders Quadrant for Gartner’s Retail POS Applications 2006 Magic Quadrant. It was also recognized as a leader in the 2006 Forrester Wave™ report titled, "POS Software, Q3 2006."
  • CustomerCENTER – Relationship Manager and Loyalty Manager modules help retailers enhance customer intimacy by understanding customer preferences and offering rewards and discounts in real-time based on customer purchase activity.
  • ReturnCENTER – centralized returns management application that manages returns across channels (in-store, phone and Internet) and gives retailers greater flexibility and control over returns management, while offering a robust reporting system that provides critical insight into those activities that have the greatest impact on the returns process.
  • TeamPoS 3000 – high-performance POS terminal features Intel® processors and a host of reliability and ease-of-service features that are designed to drive down total cost of ownership. The TeamPoS 3000 family, which meets RoHS and WEEE compliance standards, will be deployed at all new dressbarn stores and all existing maurices stores.
  • Fujitsu Lifecycle Services – multi-vendor hardware maintenance offers comprehensive retail technology management expertise, and leverages a relentless cost reduction methodology that delivers a unique competitive advantage to retailers. The new agreement is an extension of the previous agreement for multi-vendor services at dressbarn stores and is expanded to include the service of Fujitsu hardware at maurices stores.
