New Technology Backgrounder from Fujitsu Microelectronics Describes Advances and Advantages of New Digital Touch Sensor Technology in a Wide Range of Applications
Sunnyvale, CA, February 26, 2009 — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) today published a new technical backgrounder entitled ‘’Touch Sensor Controller Technology and Application Trends.” The paper describes advances in touch sensor technology for an increasingly broad range of markets and applications, and explains how sensor-driven interfaces are becoming more intuitive, and easier to implement and to use.
The backgrounder reviews the capacitive technologies used in touch-sensor controllers, and discusses the choices available for optimizing results in various applications. The paper, which focuses specifically on the benefits of all-digital touch technology, details the differences between analog and digital touch solutions, discusses different sensing applications, and analyzes general industry trends. A comprehensive section details how digital touch sensor ICs can be integrated with a wide range of microcontrollers to deliver an efficient, low-power embedded solution.
