    Fujitsu Middleware Integration Contest Recognizes Exceptional Customer Contribution in the Americas
    Fujitsu America, Inc. today announced that its Interstage® software business unit, along with a team from Fujitsu Canada’s Business Application Services (BAS) business unit, has received the Americas Region Award in the seventh annual Fujitsu Middleware Integration Competition. The contest, which is sponsored by Fujitsu Limited’s Middleware business unit, recognizes excellence in middleware integration throughout the Fujitsu Group. The team from the Americas region was chosen for a project it is currently undertaking with Revenu Québec, a large provincial ministry that collects business and individual taxes. This award marks the second time that the Interstage software business unit has won the competition in its seven-year history.

    Fujitsu America, Inc. expects that by 2030, a majority of shared cars on the road will have utilization rates above 50 percent—a significant jump from the current utilization rate of five percent1. As Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) becomes a reality in the day-to-day life of consumers, there will be a need for improved driving efficiency and increased usage of cars that currently spend 95 percent of their lives parked.

    Businesses Struggle to Deliver on Digital, Losing $655,000 per Failed Project
    Although businesses recognize the importance of digital transformation, organizations worldwide are struggling to balance the elements needed to deliver on digital. Of 1,625 business leaders surveyed for Fujitsu’s new report, The Digital Transformation PACT, one in three (33 percent) has cancelled a project in the last two years at a cost of $499,000, while one in four (28 percent) has experienced a failed project costing $655,000. 84 percent of businesses say that their customers expect them to be more digital, while 71 percent believe that they are behind their competitors. Ultimately, two in three (66 percent) believe that they will lose customers relative to their competitors as a result of digital transformation.
