Fujitsu Recognized in METI's Diversity Management Selection 100 Program

Fujitsu Limited has been named among the winners selected for the 2013 Diversity Management Selection 100, a program established by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to recognize companies that promote diversity.

Fujitsu was recognized for a variety of reasons, including its consciousness of the necessity to respect diversity, a tenet of the Fujitsu Way, the Fujitsu Group's corporate philosophy. In addition, for its Diversity Promotion Office, established with the full commitment of the company's top management to promote diversity in stages based on three-year plans, as well as for the process innovation of its product planning activities, which take into account the lifestyles of its customer segments.

2014 DIVERSITY MANAGEMENT SELECTION 100


METI implemented its Diversity Management Selection 100 program in fiscal 2012 with the aim of broadening the number of companies engaged in management practices that foster diversity, offering examples of forward-thinking corporate initiatives that tie the promotion of diversity to management results, and to broadly instill in a company's management the significance of diversity in corporate strategy. On a cumulative basis, in this program METI plans to recognize approximately 100 companies that engage in management practices that generate innovation and create value by offering a diverse range of employee opportunities that enable them to realize the full potential of their talents.

About Fujitsu Initiatives to Promote Diversity

Based on the statement "We respect diversity and support individual growth" in the Corporate Values of the Fujitsu Way, in 2008 Fujitsu established its Diversity Promotion Office, which set forth the following two objectives for its vision of Fujitsu and is pursuing the three priority measures listed below.

Vision objectives:

  • Improving individual growth and job satisfaction
    That all employees will have mutual respect for one another, that each will demonstrate their own personal added value, and that everyone will contribute to the organization.
  • Improving corporate competitiveness and growth
    That we will continue to create new knowledge and technologies through free and active discussions from a variety of viewpoints.
