Fujitsu Releases glovia G2 Easy Starter Kit for Production Management ERP

Combines basic production management functionality with implementation support services to help manufacturers get up and running quickly and inexpensively

Fujitsu Limited

Tokyo, January 09, 2014

Fujitsu today announced the introduction of the Easy Starter Kit for FUJITSU Enterprise Application glovia G2, its production management ERP for mid-sized assembly manufacturers. The kit brings together a basic set of functionality, the hardware needed to deploy it, and related services. The Easy Starter Kit is available from today.

This service includes the 11 basic process functions needed for production management in an assembly manufacturing operation, selected from the 50 functions in glovia G2. It also includes a server, materials needed to deploy the system, and implementation support services.

This service enables mid-sized assembly manufacturers to get up and running in one-third the time of conventional practices to launch new operations or bring production management online as part of domestic or international site expansion. Companies using the system can conduct ongoing operations confident that it will grow in tandem with their businesses, thanks to an extensive array of add-on functions.

Background

With intensified competition, the manufacturing sector today is in a constant state of change, and companies are frequently moving into new lines of business or expanding overseas, especially to ASEAN nations. To assist mid-sized assembly manufacturers who need a way to bring new operations or new locations online quickly and inexpensively, Fujitsu is today introducing the Easy Starter Kit for glovia G2.

Service Features

1. Provides standardized business functions for faster, less expensive implementation

This service packages the documents/tools, a server, and software needed for 11 process functions and systems deployment that are the foundation for production management ERP. This makes it possible to get a production management system with the minimum required process functions up and running in as little as four months, or one-third the time it takes using conventional practices. The system can be set up to show only those management fields needed for the customer's type of production, such as MTS(1) or MTO(2), thereby helping to keep down system-deployment costs, simplify end-user training, and reduce the chances of operator error when using the system.

2. Easy system deployment in only three steps

This service is designed so that it can be deployed in three steps, and with included implementation support services, companies can quickly bring production management online.

1. Business process analysis: Uses customer data to paint a picture of the new operations in a way that follows the provided process flow.
2. Code design: Designs codes such as system items, BOM(3), and customers/suppliers in line with glovia G2.
3. Testing & training: Trains staff in using the system and tests the system's processes in operation in accordance with the operation's workflow.

3. Flexible enough to accommodate changes in business size or circumstances

Add-on modules are available, and can be combined with the basic process flow to suit a company's particular functional needs. Sample reports and analyses are available as well, which companies can use in their own processes to extract the data they need. This gives the system the flexibility to respond to changes in size and locations without having to change to a new system.
