Fujitsu to Host Fujitsu Forum 2013

Reshaping ICT, Reshaping Business and Society

Fujitsu Limited

Tokyo, April 02, 2013

Fujitsu today announced that Fujitsu Forum 2013, the Company's largest annual event, will be held May 16-17 at the Tokyo International Forum in Japan. The theme of this year's Fujitsu Forum will be "Reshaping ICT, Reshaping Business and Society."

Our world is changing very rapidly. As globalization brings the world's economies ever closer together, profoundly changing the business environment, it is creating new opportunities as well as greater market volatility. Looking at the broader forces shaping society, a rising global population is putting pressure on supplies of food, water, fossil fuels, and other natural resources, and the aging of society, particularly in the advanced industrialized nations, is bringing about a myriad of new challenges. We also face the challenge of preparing ourselves for a variety of natural disasters.

Amid these challenges, the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) is also changing. Having undergone an exponential improvement in performance, ICT is no longer simply used to improve productivity or raise operational efficiency. ICT now has the power to help solve some of the important challenges facing business and society. The power of ICT to deliver new sources of value to business and to revolutionize the infrastructure of our societies will only increase over time.

Fujitsu Forum 2013 will feature a variety of seminars and exhibit demonstrations on initiatives in which ICT is used to help improve communities and enable them to cope with the challenges they face; on the new ways of using ICT, such as mobile applications and "big data" applications, to support the transformation and growth of your business; and on the advanced products, services, and technologies that enable these transformations.
