Fujitsu Trusted Cloud Square KANSAI Opens

Testing-support facility also showcasing demonstrations of cloud computing products and services

Fujitsu Limited

Tokyo, March 08, 2011

Fujitsu today announced that operations will begin at Fujitsu Trusted Cloud Square KANSAI, located in the Osaka Business Park in Osaka City, Japan, on March 14, 2011. The new facility will showcase demonstration and seminar rooms where customers can gain hands-on experience with the company's technologies, products, and services for cloud computing, in addition to serving as an environment for testing ICT systems.

Fujitsu has taken its existing Platform Solution Center KANSAI Satellite Office, which until now performed comprehensive testing of the company's servers and storage products to help build customer ICT systems, and has revamped it for the cloud computing era. The new facility will be the second of Fujitsu's cloud-related facilities, following the opening of the Fujitsu Trusted Cloud Square in Tokyo.

Fujitsu Trusted Cloud Square KANSAI will offer customers, mainly from Western Japan, the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Fujitsu's cloud computing technology, while at the same time providing testing support for building enterprise ICT systems, thereby helping to further optimize customer's ICT systems.

Fujitsu Trusted Cloud Square KANSAI is composed of two areas: (1) a cloud demonstration and seminar area, and (2) a platform demonstration and testing area.

At the cloud demonstration and seminar area, Fujitsu will host demonstrations and seminars on optimizing ICT infrastructure, including virtualization technology and server integration for private clouds; on optimizing operations through comprehensive post-deployment lifecycle management; and on cloud services delivered over a network.

At the platform demonstration and testing area, customers can gain hands-on experience with Fujitsu's cloud-computing technologies by testing ICT systems.

The facility will hold demonstrations and seminars of Fujitsu's public cloud-based On-Demand Virtual System Service and various SaaS offerings, as well as virtualization, standardization, and automation solutions oriented toward building private clouds. These will all allow customers to see how cloud computing works.

2. Platform Demonstration and Testing Area (for testing customers' ICT systems)

The testing facility is equipped with approximately 50 of Fujitsu's latest server and storage devices, including PRIMERGY, PRIMEQUEST and ETERNUS products. This enables customers to test out ICT systems using the actual technology, while receiving direct support from Fujitsu's technology, products, and service technicians. The facility can accommodate customers' various testing needs, including verification employing the cloud service platform at Fujitsu's datacenter and system verification for building private clouds.
