Tokyo, June 08, 2010

Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Frontech Limited today announced that Credit Saison Co., Ltd., one of Japan's largest credit card companies, will be deploying 250 of Fujitsu's compact FACT-V X100 ATM machines, which include an attached coin unit and boast the fastest bill processing performance, in Japan. Starting in March 2010, Credit Saison began to roll out the ATM units at locations such as shopping centers and inside train stations. The company is planning to deploy the machines at approximately 200 locations by June 2010.

Background

Credit Saison is expanding its repayment services, which allows customers to repay cash advances and credit used for shopping, to better accommodate users by enabling them to use currencies as small as 1 yen. Due to the increase in repayment transactions using ATM machines with each passing year, the company is facing an urgent need to offer an environment in which customers can quickly make repayments, enabling the use of coins as well.

FACT-V X100 ATM

In order to accommodate the needs of Credit Saison, Fujitsu and Fujitsu Frontech worked together to develop additional coin deposit and withdrawal functions for the compact FACT-V X100 ATM, which was released by the two companies in April 2009 and features the fastest bill processing performance in Japan. Credit Saison intends to gradually install and activate 250 FACT-V X100 machines at approximately 200 locations, including shopping centers and train stations, from March through to June 2010.

The FACT-V X100 is a compact ATM that can process currency at a rate of 10 bills per second and is perfect for installing in areas crowded with shoppers. As well, the FACT-V X100 is an environmentally friendly ATM which consumes little energy in idle mode, uses a reduced number of receipts when in use, and employs recycled plastic materials.

The deployment of these new ATM machines in convenient locations will enable Credit Saison to provide customers with cash repayment services that accept currencies as small as 1 yen.

The FACT-V X100 ATM, which includes an attached coin unit, follows the same sensible design as the original FACT-V X100 that was awarded the 2009 Good Design Award. The FACT-V X100 is widely employed in convenient locations such as shopping centers, train stations, and convenience stores. Fujitsu and Fujitsu Frontech plan to actively expand their offerings based on the newly-developed coin deposit and withdrawal functions in order to better meet the needs of financial institutions that handle coin transactions.
