Fujitsu Ranked No. 1 in Japan's IT Services and Outsourcing Markets

Tokyo, September 16, 2008 — Fujitsu Limited today announced that the company ranked number one in revenues both in Japan's IT services⁽¹⁾ and IT outsourcing markets for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2008, according to two reports released by IDC Japan, "Japan IT Services Leading Vendor Profile 2008"⁽²⁾, released on September 10, 2008, and "Japan IT Outsourcing Leading Vendor Profile 2008"⁽³⁾, released on September 16, 2008.

In Japan's IT services market, IDC Japan estimated that Fujitsu achieved a sales increase of 3.2% for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2008. The research firm attributed the increase to higher sales across all segments of the financial services industry as well as active business in system installations in the healthcare and public sectors to comply with new healthcare system regulations for local governments. As a result, Fujitsu was the top-ranked vendor by sales in this market, the IDC Japan report said.

In Japan's IT outsourcing market, as well, as a result of active promotion of help desk services across the entire lifecycle, among other factors, Fujitsu was the top-ranked vendor by sales for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2008, the IDC Japan report said. In addition to data center outsourcing, Fujitsu's services offerings in this segment include on-site outsourcing for operational management of systems located at customer sites and security and business continuity solutions for integrated risk management. By meeting customer needs with a broad line of services, Fujitsu's sales in this segment increased, the IDC Japan report said.
