Long-haul networking enters the terabit age

Long-haul networks are the arteries of the internet, connecting large cities and countries with fiber optics and transmitting massive volumes of voice, video, and data communications. These networks consist of long-distance optical fiber routes, interconnected at key locations by ROADMs.

Fujitsu’s long-haul network solutions are used by service providers in national and international networks, by hyperscalers to interconnect large facilities, and by enterprises building their own network infrastructure over dark fiber.

Farther, faster & more flexible

The new generation of long-haul systems feature key technological advances in digital signal processing (DSP) and optical amplifiers, taking optical performance to the next level. Network automation improves accuracy and takes the manual labor out of key operational processes, while platform integration ensures a responsive and flexible network.

These systems also offer new features that improve sustainability for long-haul networks, for example by reducing energy consumption and extending equipment life.
