ExtremeSwitching VDX 6740

The ExtremeSwitching VDX 6740 series delivers innovative technology to enhance and simplify networks. In addition, it offers a rich set of advanced networking features, making the ExtremeSwitching VDX 6740 an ideal platform for traditional Top-of-Rack (ToR) switch deployments. Brocade VCS Fabric technology enables organizations to build data center Ethernet fabrics - revolutionizing the design of Layer 2 networks and providing an intelligent foundation for cloud-optimized data centers. The ExtremeSwitching VDX 6740 can be easily deployed in VCS fabric mode. The ExtremeSwitching VDX 6740 is available in two models - the 1U ExtremeSwitching VDX 6740 comes with up to 48 10 GbE LAN-and 4 40GbE LAN ports. The model provides Ethernet storage connectivity for Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), iSCSI, and NAS. Alternatively the VDX6740T or VDX6740T-1G can be used for 10Gbase-T or 1Gbase-T deployments. The switches are available with a granular PoD (Port on Demand) or CoD (Capacity on Demand) which allows customers to pay only what they need currently on the one hand. On the other hand customers can enable more ports or move from 1GBase-T to 10GBase-T with additional licenses when needed.

The ExtremeSwitching VDX 6740, 6740T and 6740T-1G are Ethernet fabric Top of Rack (ToR) switches featuring 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports with 40 GbE uplinks.
