Fujitsu Launches New SaaS Ticket Sales Management Solution

Enables payment acceptance and ticket issuance at 7-Eleven stores in Japan

Fujitsu Limited

Tokyo, January 10, 2012

Fujitsu today announced the release of Ticket Management SaaS, a solution that enables event promoters throughout Japan to manage ticket sales for entertainment events including movies, theater performances, concerts, and sporting events, in addition to managing events and purchases. The new solution provides a SaaS-based system for promoters to sell tickets directly through their own websites, while at the same time making it possible to accept payments and issue tickets at 7-Eleven stores throughout Japan. In contrast to the conventional method of selling tickets through Playguide, a popular ticket purchasing system in Japan, the new solution allows users to handle ticket reservations, sales, and management on their own in real time. As a result, promoters can efficiently sell tickets while incurring lower costs.

Background

With the growth of Internet infrastructure, net shopping is now mainstream. Consumers are accustomed to making purchases whenever it is most convenient for them. The new Ticket Management SaaS provides a system for promoters throughout Japan to sell tickets directly through their own websites 24-hours-a-day, while at the same time enabling a sales approach that accommodates the shopping habits of today's consumers. It also delivers the ability to directly manage customer information, which has been difficult to obtain through the conventional approach of selling tickets through Playguide.

The solution also incorporates a service for accepting payment and issuing tickets at 7-Eleven stores across Japan. This, in turn, enables improved convenience for customers who purchase tickets, as well as helping to further expand the sales channels that promoters can use to sell tickets.

The new solution has already been deployed by NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo, which began selling a portion of its tickets online starting November 2011.

Features of the New Solution

1. Promoters expand their earnings through direct ticket sales

As the solution enables promoters to sell tickets directly to customers using their own websites, there is no need to pay the commissions associated with booking the sales through Playguide. As a result, promoters can improve their earnings on ticket sales.

2. Use of 7-Eleven stores raises customer convenience

The solution provides a service that enables promoters to use 7-Eleven stores throughout Japan (approximately 13,700 stores) for ticket issuance and payment collection 24-hours-a-day. This allows customers to receive their tickets without any hassle and make their payment whenever they want at a nearby 7-Eleven store, further enhancing convenience.

3. Promoters can strategically implement direct marketing

With the new solution, information such as member data and purchase histories which promoters previously could not obtain as they booked their sales through Playguide, can now be managed in an integrated way and analyzed. This enables promoters to undertake strategic direct marketing campaigns, such as targeting promotions to members based upon their interests.

4. Can be quickly and flexibly adapted to promoters' business

By simply deploying this solution, selecting the basic settings, and registering venue maps and seats, promoters can start selling tickets from their own websites in as little as three days (as long as a venue map does not need to be created and credit card payment is not an option). Moreover, as it is easy to add sales of tickets for limited-run or one-time only performances, the solution can be quickly and easily adapted to the business circumstances of promoters.

5. Highly-reliable, high-quality operations

This solution is operated out of Fujitsu's highest-level datacenter in Japan, and support is provided by a dedicated help desk during the period in which a customer's system is operational. This enables Fujitsu to support promoters' services and contribute to the continuity of their businesses.
