Munich/Maarssen, June 10, 2020 - Fujitsu has won the opportunity to deliver comprehensive workplace transformation from international agricultural player Barenbrug to create, deploy and manage a secure global IT infrastructure, in a new six-year global deal announced today.
The Royal Barenbrug Group, based in the Netherlands, is basing its digital transformation on the new infrastructure, spanning its 18 operating companies and 22 R&D locations. The leading worldwide creator of turf and forage solutions is looking to achieve greater workplace flexibility, increased control over costs, more secure and resilient communication and total global integration of its employee services.

New end-to-end digital workplace services and globally-managed network services, delivered by Fujitsu, will enable Barenbrug to connect, unify, standardize and secure its distributed infrastructure.

The deal replaces existing local service providers across the globe and covers 17 countries in six continents. It includes Fujitsu-provided workplace services, infrastructure, networking, security, hardware and support services.

The agreement – for an undisclosed sum – unlocks flexible, digital working for Barenbrug’s 800 employees, who gain access to their systems anywhere, anytime, on any device, thanks to the provision of Fujitsu’s workplace services for employees based on Microsoft 365 E5 licenses. With services managed by Fujitsu’s network of Global Delivery Centers (GDCs), Fujitsu will also deploy its PRIMEFLEX for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI, a hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) solution to provide a new core for Barenbrug’s data.

Barenbrug will adopt Fujitsu’s networking services based on a virtual private network (VPN) to Azure Cloud, Cisco Meraki backbone for wide area network (WAN) and office local area network (LAN), all managed by Fujitsu’s GDCs. In addition to a comprehensive workplace hardware provision, Fujitsu will also provide Barenbrug with security management through its operational security management service, and power the service desk from its GDC, using TFSNow.

Jeroen van Dijk, Global IT Director at Barenbrug, says: “Our partnership with Fujitsu will give us more control, resilience and flexibility by unifying, standardizing and connecting our distributed infrastructure across the globe. By creating a unified and secure global IT organization, we will accelerate our internal digital transformation to remain focused on providing innovative, top-quality products and services to our end customers.”

Bas de Reus, Managing Director at Fujitsu Netherlands, comments: “We are proud of Barenbrug’s selection of Fujitsu’s solution for digital transformation. This is the latest demonstration of our global capabilities and leadership in providing workplace services – and more. By partnering with Fujitsu, Barenbrug will achieve its objective of a one-stop-shop global IT service provider of a centrally-managed IT infrastructure embracing both digital workplace and managed network services.”
