Fujitsu ActivateNow 2021: An Online Event to Learn About SX and How We Can Build a More Sustainable Future

Fujitsu ActivateNow 2021 is an online global flagship event hosted by Fujitsu, scheduled to start on October 12, 2021. This year, we will welcome leading speakers and industry experts to discuss the current state and future of digital innovation. We will also explore digital innovation as the driving force of the sustainability transformation (SX) agenda.

The Fujitra News Editorial Team has selected some sessions that are bound to become the highlights of the upcoming event. Let’s take a look!

Featured Session (1) [K01]Opening Keynote: Empowering People for a Sustainable Future
Tuesday, October 12, 10:00-11:00

The theme of our opening keynote session is “Empowering People for a Sustainable Future.”
Fujitsu’s CEO and Chief Digital Transformation Officer (CDXO) Takahito Tokita will talk about what Fujitsu is working on to achieve a more sustainable future.

Three very exciting guests will be joining CEO Tokita.

Our first guest is Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group. He is one of the world’s most iconic business leaders. He will talk about empowering people, achieving difficult goals, and his outstanding achievement of visiting outer space.

Our second guest is Kathy Matsui, former vice chair of Goldman Sachs Japan. She is known for coining the term “womenomics,” and has worked to increase the participation of women in economic activities. Kathy is a passionate advocate for integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investment into corporate strategy.

Our third guest is Toomas Ilves, former President of Estonia. Estonia is known for being one of the first countries to work on DX and achieve a digital government. As president, Toomas helped drive Estonia’s transformation into a digital society. Today, 99% of the country’s public services are available online.

What can a country, a company, and individuals do to solve the various issues we are currently facing in society? Join CEO Tokita and his guests as they explore how we can build a more sustainable world where no one is left behind.

Featured Session (3) [S03] Gaining Resilience Through Business Management Transformation
Wednesday, October 13, 13:00-14:10

On Day 2 (October 13) of Fujitsu ActivateNow 2021, we will have a session titled “Gaining Resilience Through Business Management Transformation,” which will discuss issues we need to overcome to swiftly meet the needs of an evolving society.

We now live in a world where things can take a sudden and unexpected turn. It is becoming increasingly important to have the resilience to respond to such unpredictable events. And to have resilience, businesses need to be able to make decisions objectively.

In this session, Fujitsu’s Chief Evangelist Iwao Nakayama will be joined by Tomoe Ishizumi, CEO of Palo Alto Insight, along with Motoaki Nishiwaki from Microsoft Japan.

Tomoe has experience leading numerous AI-related projects at Google’s headquarters as the company’s senior strategist. In 2017, Tomoe started her own business in Silicon Valley. She now supports Japanese companies with their DX projects by offering them the newest AI-related solutions. Her business also collaborates with Japanese companies in the development of AI.

Motoaki is an Evangelist at Microsoft Japan and is also an advisor for the Japan Digital Transformation Association.
