Spain Fujitsu awarded revenue commissioners’ ICT services and support contract

The Revenue Commissioners, the Irish tax and customs authority, has awarded the contract for the delivery and support of certain ICT Services to Fujitsu with an initial contract value in excess of €3m. The contract, which is for a two-year period with the option of a one-year extension, was awarded following an open EU procurement process and is a strategic element in the delivery of Revenue’s ICT Strategy.

All in all more than Vaasan & Vaasan 400 desktops in 15 towns across Finland are managed by the Patja service. The renewed agreement expands it to cover printing management, server capacity as service, Mobile Professional and lifecycle management for mobile devices. In addition, the company's e-mail and application platform, Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server (MOSS), will be provided as service.

As part of this contract, Fujitsu will provide strategic ICT architecture and process consulting and quality assurance services for Revenue. This will include assisting Revenue attain compliance with the new Business Continuity Management standard (BS25999) and achievement of security certification (ISO 27000) for defined systems.

Fujitsu and Revenue have a long and successful track record of working together on numerous infrastructure projects over many years. This new contract marks a key expansion in the range of services that Fujitsu and their partners will provide to Revenue.
